Where is the Unknown key for The Extortionist?
Search the dead Scav in the bushes behind the garages on Customs. This is the intended spawn location; guides describe the key as spawning there each raid or as guaranteed, but another player may already have taken it. If it is missing, the body may have been looted.
The quest is given by Skier and takes place on Customs. Check a current Customs map and use nearby landmarks to orient yourself: guides describe the locked cabin’s location differently, placing it in the boiler area near the reservoir or at the crane yard. Where is the folder in The Extortionist?
- Bring the Unknown key to the locked cabin in the boiler area near the reservoir.
- Unlock the cabin and look beneath the floor covering for Secure Folder 0048. It is the hidden cargo required for the quest; see the Secure Folder 0048 reference.
- Keep the folder in your possession and extract alive. A route guide reports that you lose it if you fail to extract. TarkovHead’s quest guide describes the extraction requirement.
- After extraction, hand Secure Folder 0048 to Skier to complete the required hand-in.
Do you have to find the messenger’s body?
No. The required outcome is finding the hidden valuable cargo and handing it to Skier. Finding the messenger’s body and finding where the messenger hid the cargo are listed as optional objectives, so you can skip them and focus on retrieving the folder.
