Reports published June 22, 2025 said that a video purporting to show the first hour of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach had appeared online four days before the game’s scheduled June 26 release. GameSpew later updated its report to say the video had been taken down. The reporting did not establish how the uploader obtained the game.
What was reported about the leak
GameSpew reported on June 22, 2025 that the first hour of the game had been posted to YouTube. It described the video as Spanish-language, with subtitles, and containing gameplay as well as cutscenes. GameSpew also noted that an associated Instagram account showed a physical copy, but that detail does not establish how the copy was obtained. GameSpew’s report was later updated to say the video had been taken down.

Who uploaded it, and how did they get the game?
Insider Gaming identified the uploader as Spanish YouTube creator “ariel navarro rg.” That is the outlet’s attribution; the reporting reviewed here does not independently verify the person’s identity. Insider Gaming said the creator’s route to getting the game was unclear. An early retail copy or a media copy were raised as possibilities, not confirmed explanations. Insider Gaming’s report did not resolve the question.
Release timing and what is known now
At the time of the reports, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach was scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5 on June 26, 2025. That date is pre-release context from the June 22 reporting, not a statement about current availability. The reports describe a leak and a subsequent takedown update; they do not establish whether copies appeared elsewhere or whether the video is accessible on any platform now.
