Yak T’el has 10 field Aether Currents, four side-quest rewards, and one Main Scenario reward listed in the guide sources. Collect the currents in the zone and complete its required quests to meet the Aether Current requirement for flight. Use the coordinates and landmarks below to find each field current; quest rewards depend on Main Scenario progress.
How to find currents in Yak T’el
For nearby currents, open the Duty menu’s Collections section and use the Aether Compass. It points toward currents you have not yet attuned to. For a written route, use the coordinates below as X/Y/Z and treat the landmark as a clue: elevation and terrain may mean you need to approach from a path or ramp. The list is from a maintained community guide; the sources do not establish that every coordinate has been revalidated against the live October 2026 client. Siliconera’s guide independently gives the overall count and some northern coordinates.

Quest Aether Currents and prerequisites
Quest currents are gated by Main Scenario progress. If a listed quest giver does not offer the quest, advance the Main Scenario to the prerequisite shown rather than searching for a different location.

The community guide lists the quest levels, coordinates, and prerequisites. Square Enix’s Lodestone database also classifies Road to the Golden City as a level 95 Dawntrail Main Scenario quest in Yak T’el.
When Yak T’el flight unlocks
Square Enix’s Patch 7.0 notes say that meeting the Aether Current requirement unlocks flight in each area. In practice, use the compass to find uncollected field currents and complete the zone’s current-reward quests as they become available through the Main Scenario.

Yak T’el at a glance
Yak T’el is a densely wooded region reached by dirigible across the mountain range southeast of Tuliyollal. Square Enix describes its highlands as home to the Xbr’aal and its shaded lowlands as inhabited by the Mamool Ja; cenotes formed in sinkholes are scattered through the region.
