Fata Deum is a single-player god-game strategy and simulation game in which you influence mortals, shape settlements and compete with rival gods. It launched in Early Access on September 15, 2025, so it is still in development rather than a finished release. Here’s what its design promises, where it’s available and what a Windows PC needs to run it.
What kind of game is Fata Deum?
Developed by 42 Bits Entertainment and published by Aerosoft GmbH, Fata Deum builds its strategy around the relationship between a god and the people who live in its world. You can help, bless, frighten, punish or otherwise manipulate mortals while developing settlements.
The official description divides the activity between influencing people during the day and manipulating settlements at night. You can encourage construction of temples, farms and lumber mills, or take more destructive approaches. The game also describes supernatural consequences, rival settlements and challenges set by the goddesses of fate.
Its store description says choices affect follower behavior and the world’s appearance: settlements may become bright and flourishing or dark and corrupted. That is the developers’ stated design, not a guarantee of a particular outcome or a hands-on assessment.

How does its god-versus-god conflict work?
You are not the only divine force shaping the world. The store describes rival gods associated with Violence, Deceit, Fertility and Pleasure. The premise supports different approaches, from benevolent guidance to tyranny, as you try to influence settlements and their people.
That combination of settlement management and direct supernatural influence is the central appeal: rather than controlling only a conventional army or city, you make choices about how mortals live and how they respond to your power. The game is listed as single-player.
Is Fata Deum a finished game?
No. Steam labels Fata Deum Early Access. Its page says the Early Access version includes the features described there, while also warning that development can continue. Treat the current experience as a game in progress; its content and feel may change.
A Steam listing surfaced an announcement titled “Fata Deum | Patch 16 | Biggest Change To The Game’s Feel Since Launch | Out Now,” dated August 21, 2026. The title indicates that a patch was announced, but it does not establish what specific changes it made. Check the live Steam listing for the current update details.

Where can you buy Fata Deum, and what editions are listed?
Official listings reviewed offer the Windows game on Steam, the Epic Games Store and GOG. Epic requires an Epic ID. GOG describes its games as DRM-free and playable offline; that is a GOG platform characteristic and should not be assumed to describe copies from other storefronts.
The Supporter Edition is listed with the game, official soundtrack and digital artbook. The soundtrack and artbook are also listed separately as digital content.
