In Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2, Hades was in The Underworld, at a temple northwest of Grim Gate. To start the boss fight, interact with the glowing statue inside. This is a historical guide to Myths & Mortals; it does not mean Hades is available in the current season.
Where was Hades in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2?
Hades’s home was The Underworld, on the island’s west side beyond Grim Gate. Epic described the route as “Past the hounds is the home of Hades: The Underworld.” (Fortnite/Epic Games, March 8, 2024) A contemporary guide places his temple northwest of Grim Gate, at the highest point of the area, with Hades’s gold-glowing statue on its western side. (GameSkinny)
How do you start the Hades boss fight?
Find the gold-glowing statue on its pedestal in the temple and interact with it. The guide lists these default controls: X on Xbox, Square on PlayStation, and E on PC. Custom or changed bindings may differ.
How did the Hades fight work?
Prepare before interacting with the statue
GameSkinny’s contemporary guide recommends going in with full shields, at least two guns, and plenty of ammunition. It describes three waves of minions, with Hades joining during the third.

Manage minions and Hades’s attacks
The guide reports that Hades uses the Chain of Hades, an SMG, and a Siphon ability that pulls players toward him and drains health. Its tactical advice is to take out minions and keep your distance from Siphon rather than rushing straight at the boss. For a close-range finish, approach only when you can do so safely.
Use the room’s green water
GameSkinny notes that green water in the room grants Agility, which enables three phases via double-jump. Treat this as advice for the Season 2 encounter, not a guarantee about current Fortnite mechanics.

Epic said defeating Hades could award the Mythic Harbinger SMG. (Fortnite/Epic Games) Contemporary guides also list the Chains of Hades and the Siphon Aspect of the Gods among his special rewards. GameSpot describes Hades as the guaranteed source of the Chain of Hades, while noting that the weapon could also appear as loot. (GameSpot; GameSkinny)

Hades was a Chapter 5 Season 2 boss. Epic listed May 24, 2024, at 2 AM ET as the end of Battle Pass progression for that season, so this guide describes the historical encounter and should not be read as confirmation that it is available now. (Fortnite/Epic Games)
