If Fortnite shows error AS-1041, Epic Games has not published a confirmed cause or a code-specific fix for it. Try Epic’s general guidance for other AS errors: update Windows and your device drivers, then clear the Epic Games Launcher’s webcache. These are sensible first steps, not guaranteed AS-1041 fixes.
What Fortnite error AS-1041 means
Epic’s AS error codes support page lists separate entries for AS-18004, AS-18031 and AS-1010, but does not name AS-1041 or define its precise cause. For other AS errors, Epic says the problem typically indicates a network configuration issue, outdated drivers or Windows, or a Launcher webcache that needs clearing. That general explanation is not confirmation that any one of those causes applies to AS-1041.
People may describe AS-1041 as a Fortnite login error, but that wording does not establish whether the problem is with an account, the game, the Launcher or the connection. Start with Epic’s general AS-error steps and use the exact code when checking for support updates.

How to troubleshoot AS-1041
- Search Epic Support for the exact error. Epic recommends searching its support knowledge base for the error message first, since a specific fix may be available. Follow any current instructions that explicitly match your code. See Epic’s Fortnite PC troubleshooting guidance.
- Update Windows and your device drivers. Install available Windows updates and check for current drivers for your PC’s devices. This is part of Epic’s general advice for AS errors, not an AS-1041-specific resolution.
- Clear the Epic Games Launcher webcache. Close the Launcher fully using its system-tray menu, then open the Windows Run dialog or File Explorer and enter
%localappdata%. OpenEpicGamesLauncherSaved, delete thewebcachefolder, restart your computer, and launch the Epic Games Launcher again. This removes the Launcher’s webcache, not your Fortnite installation. Epic’s AS error instructions describe this step. - Check service status and basic connection conditions. If the error persists, consult Epic Games Public Status and Epic’s ESP-error connection guidance for general connection checks. ESP is a different error-code family; that guidance does not diagnose AS-1041.
- Contact Epic Player Support if it continues. Use the Epic Games Help Center to find Fortnite support or contact Player Support. Include the exact code, when it appears and which troubleshooting steps you have already tried.
What not to assume
- A network outage is not established. Epic’s general AS guidance mentions network configuration as one possible category; it does not say AS-1041 means Epic’s servers are down.
- There is no confirmed AS-1041 fix in the cited guidance. Updating Windows or drivers and clearing the webcache are reasonable steps drawn from Epic’s advice for AS errors generally, but their success for this specific code is not established.
- Avoid unverified workarounds. The cited Epic guidance does not substantiate third-party “fix” downloads, VPN workarounds, disabling security tools or changing router settings as guaranteed solutions.
