You can’t claim Car Mechanic Simulator 2018 through the Epic Games Store’s old free giveaway: it ran from June 23 to June 30, 2022, and has expired. Epic says free games must be claimed during the offer period. Check Epic’s Free Games page for current promotions; the sources cited here do not establish that this game is currently free.
What happened to the Epic Games free offer?
Car Mechanic Simulator 2018 was part of an Epic Games Store giveaway from June 23 through June 30, 2022, alongside A Game of Thrones: The Board Game Digital Edition, according to PC Gamer’s giveaway history. A contemporaneous report also recorded that offer window. This is a past promotion, not evidence of present availability.
Epic’s support guidance says free promotions run for a limited period and a game must be claimed while that offer is active. Missing the claim window does not leave the game claimable afterward. Epic directs players to its support guidance on missed free games for this rule.

If Car Mechanic Simulator 2018 is not listed as a current promotion, the expired 2022 offer cannot be claimed through that giveaway.
