Larian’s Baldur’s Gate 3 Deluxe Edition pairs physical collectibles with digital extras, but the game itself is delivered differently by platform: PC uses a DVD installer and Steam key and requires a download, while PS5 and Xbox are described as playable disc editions. Larian’s US store listed PC at $79.99 and PS5 and Xbox out of stock when checked for this article; availability and prices can change.
What comes in the Baldur’s Gate 3 Deluxe Edition box?
Larian’s official product description lists these physical contents:
- A Mind Flayer poster measuring 570 × 690 mm.
- Two patches: Flaming Fist and Mark of the Absolute, each 10 cm.
- 32 stickers.
- A double-sided map measuring 160 × 180 mm, described by the store as bookbinding paper and by the product copy as Wibalin-Buckram.
- Three CDs containing the original soundtrack.
- A collectible game box.
These are specifications from Larian’s product listing, not an independent inspection of the package. The edition also includes digital extras: the Divinity Item Pack, Bard Song Pack, an exclusive dice skin, paintings from Rivellon, an Adventurer’s Pouch, a digital soundtrack, a digital artbook, and digital character sheets.
How do the PC, PS5 and Xbox editions differ?
| Platform | How the game is delivered | Disc details listed by Larian |
|---|---|---|
| PC | A DVD with a custom installer and Steam key; a game download is required. | The DVD is not a complete, playable copy of the game. |
| PS5 | Physical game discs described as playable. | Two playable discs on Larian’s general edition page. |
| Xbox | Physical game discs described as playable. | The current Xbox product page specifies four discs, while Larian’s general edition page says three playable discs. The official product copy is inconsistent, so confirm the selected listing or physical revision if the count matters. |
Larian’s edition FAQ distinguishes PC’s downloader disc from the physical game versions for PS5 and Xbox. The console copies are not presented as PC-style installer discs that require downloading the full game. The platform packages still differ in delivery, so choose the version that matches the system you intend to play on.

What did the edition cost, and is it available?
At the time the official US store was checked for this article, its listing showed the PC edition at $79.99 and marked PS5 and Xbox out of stock. Larian’s general edition page listed all three versions at $79.99. Because the store pages differed on availability and stock can change, check the platform-specific listing before ordering; the listed price is not a guarantee of current price or stock.
What happened with the 2024 console shipments?
There were region-specific fulfillment delays in 2024, but those updates do not provide a current delivery estimate. In an October 2024 community update, Larian Community Manager Salo said production issues delayed North American PS5 and Xbox copies. Salo explained that the console editions were full-disc physical games and could not be substituted with digital downloads. A later update in the same official thread reported further North American PS5 delays, while Xbox copies were shipping and PS5 copies for EU and Oceania had left the warehouse.

Which version should you buy?
- Choose PC if you want the PC edition and are comfortable redeeming its Steam key and downloading the game. The DVD is an installer, not the full playable game.
- Choose PS5 or Xbox if you want a physical console game described by Larian as playable from disc. Check the listing for your platform and region before purchase.
- Check the Xbox disc count if that detail affects your decision: Larian’s Xbox-specific page says four, while its general page says three.
