The real R.E.P.O. is Semiwork’s online co-op horror game listed for Windows PC on Steam. A PlayStation LifeStyle report from March 11, 2025 said a similarly named game had appeared in the PlayStation Store’s trending area and confused players. That report does not establish whether the listing is still available or trending, or whether the real game has since been announced for PlayStation. Check the developer and product details on the live Store page before buying.

Which game is the real R.E.P.O.?

Semiwork identifies itself as the indie studio behind R.E.P.O. and links to the game’s Steam listing from its official studio page. Steam names semiwork as both developer and publisher.

The game is an online co-op horror experience for up to six players. Players search for valuable objects, handle them using physics-based controls, and extract them to meet their creator’s demands. Steam lists its release date as February 26, 2025, and marks it Early Access.

What was reported about the PlayStation Store?

On March 11, 2025, PlayStation LifeStyle reported that a R.E.P.O.-named game was appearing in the PlayStation Store’s trending area in multiple regions. The article said the listing confused some users who expected Semiwork’s PC game, and that the real R.E.P.O. had not been announced for PlayStation at that time. That is a dated report about what was happening then—not a current check of the Store or proof of today’s platform status.

R.E.C.O.N. Mobile Game
  • An online co-op horror game with up to 6 players. Locate valuable, fully physics-based objects and handle them with care as you retrieve and extract to satisfy your creator's desires.
  • R.E.C.O.N. is an online co-op horror game featuring physics, proximity voice chat and scary monsters. You and up to 5 friends can venture into terrifying environments to extract valuable objects using your physics-based grabbing tool!

The reactions quoted in that report, including a user saying they were happy to see the game on console and hoping for cross-play, were user comments relayed by the outlet. They were not announcements from Semiwork or Sony.

How to check a listing before purchasing

  1. Check the developer and publisher. Compare the listing’s attribution with Steam, where semiwork is named as developer and publisher.
  2. Compare the product details. The official Steam page describes an online co-op horror game for up to six players, with physics-based object retrieval and extraction. A matching name alone does not verify that a Store product is the same game.
  3. Look for a current official platform announcement. The March 2025 report only describes the situation at that time. Do not infer a PlayStation port from a Store listing or an old article; confirm through Semiwork or current official Store details.

What the PC listing says about Early Access

Steam labels R.E.P.O. Early Access and cautions that games in Early Access are not complete and may change. Semiwork’s listing gives an approximate Early Access duration of around a year and a half and describes planned additions, but those are developer plans rather than a guaranteed schedule.
