Nintendo’s August 27, 2024 presentation paired an Indie World Showcase with a Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase for the first time, with the Indie World segment airing first. The announcements ranged from games available that day to releases Nintendo then scheduled for 2025 and beyond. The dates below are the announcements as made in 2024, not a guide to current availability.

What was the August 27 presentation?

Nintendo ran two presentations back-to-back: Indie World, focused on independent games, followed by the Partner Showcase, featuring games from Nintendo’s publishing and development partners. Nintendo’s official recap covers the featured games and their announcement-era details. Its event archive also highlights several Partner Showcase segments.

Some games received individual feature segments, while others appeared in rapid-fire montages. The lists below preserve that distinction rather than suggesting every title received the same amount of airtime.

Indie World: releases, updates and upcoming games

Available on the day of the showcase

  • Pizza Tower: Nintendo announced that the fast-paced 2D platformer, built around movement, exploration and high scores, would arrive on Switch later that day.
  • Balatro: Friends of Jimbo: This free update for the poker-themed deck-building roguelike added cards inspired by The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt, Vampire Survivors, DAVE THE DIVER and Among Us. Nintendo said it would be available later that day.
