Xbox Wire confirmed the July 29, 2025 release date and platforms, while the city-by-city times above come from the schedule reproduced by GG.deals. For many players in Asia and Oceania, the local calendar date was July 30.
What “launch” meant for Grounded 2
The game launched in development rather than as a finished 1.0 release. Xbox described its console and Xbox PC release as Game Preview, and its Steam release as Early Access. The shared launch date was July 29, 2025.

At launch, Xbox listed Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, Xbox Cloud, Steam, Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass as ways to play. Obsidian’s FAQ said Game Pass Core and Game Pass Standard did not include the game. Those are launch-period access details, not a statement of current subscription availability.
Xbox Wire’s July 16, 2025 announcement covered the launch platforms and access options; the Xbox store listing identifies July 29, 2025 as the Game Preview date.
