To remove one game from your Steam library, open Steam Support, find the game under Games and Applications, and follow the game-specific prompts. Steam Community users report an option labeled “I want to permanently remove the game from my account,” but “permanently” is not proof that the game’s license is irreversibly erased: users also report being able to restore a removed game through Support. If you only want to declutter your client, hiding the game is the clearer reversible option; uninstalling it frees local storage without removing it from your account.

How to request removal of one game through Steam Support

Sign in to Steam Support and open the Games and Applications route.

Search for and select the game you want to remove, then follow the options presented for that title.

Review the confirmation screen carefully before submitting. Steam’s wording and available prompts may vary, and the current single-game flow should not be assumed to destroy the license irreversibly.

Steam Community discussions describe a game-specific option labeled “I want to permanently remove the game from my account” and report that Support can restore a removed game. These are user reports, not a guarantee that every account or game will show the same interface or that the action has a particular effect on the license. Hide a game if you may want it back in view
Hiding is separate from requesting removal through Support. Steam’s missing-games guidance points to the Hidden Games list and the Manage > Remove from Hidden control. Use that control when you want a hidden title to appear in your library again. Hiding is a visibility choice, not a way to uninstall the game or change its account-level license.

Uninstall a game to reclaim disk space
Uninstalling removes the installed game content from your computer. It does not remove the game from your Steam account’s library listing; reinstalling remains a separate local-install decision. Use Steam’s client uninstall control or follow its uninstall instructions if the interface differs.
Why account deletion is not the single-game solution
Steam account deletion applies to the whole account and associated game licenses and other account information. Steam says a deletion request has a 30-day period in which it can be canceled; once the account is deleted, the account and associated information cannot be restored. Do not use account deletion just to remove one unwanted title. The process and its scope are described in Steam’s account deletion FAQ.
What happens to achievements, playtime, and saves?
The available Steam guidance and community reports cited here do not establish what happens to achievements, playtime, cloud saves, or profile records when a single game is removed through Support. Do not assume those records are erased—or preserved—based on the word “permanently” in a removal option. Check the current confirmation text and contact Steam Support if the effect on a particular record matters to you.
