HoYoverse’s March 2024 character preview introduced Boothill as a cyborg cowboy and Galaxy Ranger bent on drawing the Interastral Peace Corporation’s attention. The reveal also gave fans a taste of his distinctive voice—but it was character copy, not a statement from a real-world spokesperson.
What HoYoverse revealed about Boothill
“Drip marketing” is community shorthand for a character preview. HoYoverse’s March 2024 post introduced Boothill with this description:
| # | Preview | Product | Price | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 |
|
Honkai: Star Rail Pom-Pom Gallery Series Pom - Boothill | $8.99 | Buy on Amazon |
“A cyborg cowboy drifting among the stars. Extremely optimistic and unrestrained. He is a member of the Galaxy Rangers who swore to punish the wretched by any and all means… His flamboyant and brash actions were all to draw the attention of the Interastral Peace Corporation — the target of his revenge.”
The copy establishes the central premise: Boothill is a Galaxy Ranger whose conspicuous behavior is meant to provoke the Interastral Peace Corporation, which the description identifies as the target of his revenge. It does not explain more about the conflict or its backstory. HoYoverse’s official reveal

What the Synesthesia Beacon line means
The reveal’s character dialogue, reproduced in ClutchPoints’ March 13, 2024 report, gives Boothill a playful, irreverent voice:
“So, here’s the thing: someone went and tinkered with my Synesthesia Beacon, so now, all you folks can hear is me and those adorable little troublemakers talkin’ like this… cutie, cutie, cutie. Looky here, see?”
This is fictional Boothill dialogue. It explains the unusual way other characters’ speech sounds in the preview; it is not a testimonial or quotation from a named HoYoverse representative. ClutchPoints’ report

Contemporary coverage published on March 13, 2024 described Boothill as a 5-star Physical character on the Path of the Hunt. That report expected him in Version 2.2 and gave May 8, 2024 as the then-scheduled date. Those details record what was anticipated at the time, not a current release schedule or banner status.
HoYoverse later listed Boothill among the returning characters in its Version 3.0 announcement. That establishes his inclusion in that version’s lineup; neither that notice nor the 2024 reveal confirms whether he is available now. HoYoverse’s Version 3.0 announcement
