Complete the main-story quest The Room of Requirement to unlock the room. To gain its extra spaces and Vivariums, continue the story and complete Deek’s quests; there is no separate purchase that simply makes the room bigger.
How to unlock the Room of Requirement
The room becomes available during the main-story quest The Room of Requirement, when Professor Weasley introduces it. It is a progression milestone, not an area you can access from the beginning. See the quest walkthrough and unlock guide for the quest context.

During the introduction, you learn three spells used to customize the space:
- Conjuring Spell: place objects and functional stations.
- Alteration Spell: change placed objects and room features.
- Evanesco: remove objects; gameplay guides describe it as recovering Moonstone from removed conjurations.
These spells let you arrange the room, but they do not unlock the later spaces. Those are tied to story and Deek’s quest progression.

How to make the Room of Requirement bigger
Keep advancing the main story and complete Deek’s quests. The room expands through quest rewards rather than a size-upgrade purchase. The sequence also introduces themed Vivariums, where you can care for beasts. Pro Game Guides’ expansion guide outlines the quest chain.

When does the Vivarium unlock?
The first Vivarium arrives through The Elf, the Nab-Sack, and the Loom, as part of beast-care progression. Further Vivariums become available through later Deek quests rather than through a single room upgrade. Their themed environments provide space for beast care as well as decoration. Think of the room as a customizable hub with both practical stations and decorative conjurations. Recipes let you place stations for activities such as potion-making, planting, and gear improvement. The Loom is a functional station for upgrading gear and applying traits; it becomes available through its quest, not just by decorating the room. In the Vivariums, conjurations include beast feeders, toyboxes, breeding pens, and environmental decorations. Game8’s Room of Requirement guide covers room functions and conjurations.

There are three separate parts to setting up the space: unlock the room through the main story, earn additional facilities and spaces through quests, then use recipes and Moonstone to place the conjurations you want. The larger footprint comes from progression; the customization system handles furnishings. What makes the best layout depends on whether you prioritize crafting, planting, potion-making, gear upgrades, beast care, or decoration; the available guides do not establish one best layout for every player.
