Yes. Team Cherry announced the game was available on September 4, 2025, and Steam records that date as its release date. The original launch-day headline is now historical, rather than a notice of a current outage.
Team Cherry’s official game page lists availability on PC, Mac, Linux, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Which regional storefront carries the game can vary by territory; check the listing for your platform and region.
Why were storefronts having trouble when Silksong launched?
Contemporary coverage reported access problems around launch for Steam and Nintendo eShop, and also reported an impact on Game Pass. Team Cherry later described the audience as large enough to crash storefronts. The studio wrote: “It’s a truly staggering number of players, more than we could have ever expected (enough to crash all of the storefronts!).”

It supports a link between the unexpectedly large launch audience and storefront access trouble; it does not show that Silksong’s game software caused platform faults.
How large was the launch audience?
In its year-end 2025 retrospective, Team Cherry reported more than seven million purchases, plus millions more people playing through Xbox Game Pass. Those are the studio’s dated figures, and they distinguish purchases from subscription access; they are not a current total-player count.
