Turning them in earns the Drifter’s Cloak, which helps Hornet glide on the area’s wind currents. The route below also covers the Mask Shard, the Fourth Chorus fight, and the way onward to Greymoor. These walkthrough details are drawn from third-party guides and have not been independently tested.
Enter Far Fields and set up navigation
The main route into Far Fields comes from Deep Docks. The Hollow Knight Wiki describes reaching it after defeating Lace in the arena north of Forge Daughter, ringing a bellshrine, and using Swift Step to cross a lava gap. An alternate passage south of Forge Daughter uses a Simple Key and also requires Swift Step; it offers another way in if you have the key and want to bypass Lace. - Find Shakra and buy the Far Fields map. The Silksong Map walkthrough lists the price as 50, but that amount comes from a third-party guide and may differ by game version or current game state. Silksong Map: Far Fields

Far Fields is organized around air vents and environmental objects, so pay attention to where currents lift Hornet and which routes they open. The guides also mention an optional Flea rescue, Pilgrim’s Rest, the main shaft, and a bell-like defensive tool. The item is called “Warding Bell” by Silksong Map and “Warden Bell” in GameFAQs prose; the sources do not settle the exact in-game name, so check the item label in your build. Complete the Seamstress’s Spine Cores request
Find the Seamstress

Gather 25 Spine Cores
Defeat Hokers and collect their Spine Cores. GameFAQs says the enemies respawn if you leave and re-enter their room, which gives you a repeatable way to gather the required total. Keep count in your inventory rather than relying on a particular number of encounters.
Return for the Drifter’s Cloak
Bring all 25 cores back to the Seamstress to receive the Drifter’s Cloak. It lets Hornet glide and remain airborne longer on wind currents, making it useful for navigating Far Fields’ vent-driven routes. Silksong Map: Far Fields GameFAQs walkthrough

Find the Far Fields Mask Shard
The Mask Shard is behind an environmental bomb sequence. Use the vents to reach the upper passages, then activate the floor bombs so the resulting air current carries Hornet high enough to reach the ceiling bomb. Defeat the Fourth Chorus
The Fourth Chorus fight uses the arena’s air currents and overhead hazards as part of its solution. GameFAQs identifies the boss’s head as vulnerable. Watch its limb attacks, then use the vents and bombs when the fight reaches its final phase. GameFAQs walkthrough Silksong Map: Far Fields

Read the attacks
- Vertical hand slam: The blow sinks the platform. Dodge sideways to avoid the impact.
- Broad horizontal sweep: Jump over the sweep rather than trying to outrun it on the ground.
- Ceiling strikes: Later attacks dislodge magma balls from above. Keep moving and watch where they fall.
The area map guide also describes floating over lower-limb sweeps and backing away from upper-limb slams. Use those as positional cues, not fixed timing guarantees. Any hit counts in the walkthrough are observations from that guide, not a required number of strikes.
Use the arena to finish the fight
- When the final phase begins, move to a side air jet.
- Ride the current upward to reach bombs embedded in the overhead rocks.
- Hit a bomb so the large rock drops onto the Fourth Chorus.
This environmental finish is the key to the final phase: use the side jets to reach the bombs rather than relying only on direct attacks.

Take the upper-vent route to Greymoor
After the Fourth Chorus is defeated, the Silksong Map route goes back through Pilgrim’s Rest and up the central air vents. Open the levers and break the orange rocks blocking the way to reach Greymoor. Optional later-area access
The Hollow Knight Wiki reports that an otherwise inaccessible northeastern section opens in Act 3 through Hunter’s March using Silk Soar. That later area includes Skarrsinger Karmelita and a race challenge with Sprintmaster Swift; it is separate from the first-visit route to Greymoor. Hollow Knight Wiki: Far Fields
