For the current reported version of Hollow Knight: Silksong, the Fine Pins Hunt Wish requires 12 Fine Pins, not 10. The quest page’s Patch 3 history says version 1.0.28891 raised the requirement from 10 to 12 and changed the drop rate from 50% to 100%; Nintendo Life also lists 12. Some older walkthroughs still say 10, so their count and drop-rate advice do not reflect that reported change.
How to start the Fine Pins Wish
- In Songclave, ring the bell inside the First Shrine. The quest page lists this as the prerequisite for the Wish to appear.
- Go to the Wishwall in Songclave and accept the Fine Pins Wish before collecting pins. The Wish is posted there by the Residents of Songclave.
Where to find Fine Pins
Go to the Choral Chambers and defeat Choristors or Reeds. The quest page says pin-wielding enemies appear mostly in the western hallways and the eastern vertical shaft, so those are the most useful areas to search.
Collect the drops from defeated enemies. Pins that Reeds throw at Hornet are projectiles and do not count toward the Wish.
How many pins to collect and where to turn them in
Collect 12 Fine Pins, then return to Songclave’s Wishwall to deliver them. The Patch 3 history on the Hollow Knight Wiki identifies version 1.0.28891 as the change that increased the target from 10 to 12 and made the reported drop rate 100%. Nintendo Life independently lists the 12-pin requirement. A Silksong Wiki walkthrough still gives the old 10-pin count and says drops are not guaranteed; those instructions conflict with the post-Patch 3 account.

Fine Pins Wish reward
Completing the Wish awards a Heavy Rosary Necklace containing 220 Rosaries. The quest page also reports that a rack of pins appears in Songclave after completion.
