Badlion Client Lite also lets you add entries from its built-in mod library using Add Mods. Neither workflow imports an arbitrary downloaded mod file: Badlion staff say users cannot add their own mods to the client.
Enable a mod in the standard Badlion Client
- Download Badlion Client from Badlion’s client download site and run the installer for your operating system, following Badlion’s installation guide.
- Open the launcher, choose the Minecraft version you want to play, and launch it.
- Join a world or server and press Right Shift to open the in-game mod menu. The menu can also be opened through the in-game controls; exact interface details may vary by release.
- Find the desired mod in the list and switch it on. Select the mod to open its settings; available controls differ by mod.
Move supported HUD elements
For HUD elements that support repositioning, open the GUI editor with the pencil icon and drag the elements where you want them. Badlion says changes are saved when you leave the editor. The available elements and settings depend on the client version.
Add a library entry in Badlion Client Lite
Lite may show a shorter list of popular mods at first. To reveal another available entry, open the mod menu, select Add Mods, find the mod in Badlion’s built-in library, and press Add. Badlion says the entry appears in the Lite menu without restarting Minecraft. Use the trash-bin control to remove an added entry.
The standard client and Lite present their mod lists differently. In Lite, Add Mods exposes more entries from Badlion’s own library; it does not provide a way to install any mod file from elsewhere.

Can you add a downloaded mod or use Forge or Fabric?
No documented Badlion workflow lets players import a third-party .jar or another custom mod into the client. In a Badlion forum reply dated September 18, 2024, a staff member wrote, “Badlion does not support the addition of mods to its client.” The same reply suggests submitting a suggestion if a desired mod is missing. That restriction concerns users’ own mods, not selecting entries Badlion includes in Lite.
The available Badlion instructions do not establish a general, current procedure for running Forge or Fabric inside Badlion Client. Do not assume a loader or mod is compatible based on a different Minecraft version or client; check current Badlion and loader documentation for the exact versions you intend to use.

What to check if you cannot find a mod
- Confirm the client and Minecraft version. The list and settings can vary by client and release; examples in Badlion’s 2022 guide are not a guarantee that every example appears in every current version.
- If you use Lite, open Add Mods. The entry may be in the built-in library even if it is not in the shorter initial list.
- If it is not in Badlion’s library, the documented option is to suggest it to Badlion rather than import an external mod file.
- If the menu shortcut does not work, check the client’s in-game controls, since interface details can change across releases.
