To check your EA friends, start in the EA app for your account-level list, or open EA Connect inside a supported game to see its in-game friends and activity. These lists can differ: an EA app friendship does not always make you friends in a particular game.
Which friends list should you check?

Check your friends in the EA app
The EA app is for PC and Mac. EA says existing Origin friend lists transfer when you sign in to the EA app. EA Help
- Open the EA app and select Add friend under your avatar.
- Choose Find friends.
- Search using the person’s display name, EA ID, real name, or email. If you prefer, choose Import friends to bring in friends from Steam, Xbox, or PlayStation. If an account is not linked, the app offers a linking flow.
- Find the correct profile and select Add.
See who is online in EA Connect
EA Connect is available from inside supported games, not as a universal friends app. EA says the icon is usually near the bottom-right of the game’s main menu, but its location and design can vary. You need an EA Account and an internet connection. Not every game includes every EA Connect feature. EA Help
- Open the game’s main menu and select the EA Connect icon.
- Open Friends to view online and offline status. If the game exposes more details, the list may also show a friend’s platform, game and mode, or last-online time.
- Use Player search to look someone up by EA ID or platform username.
- Open Friend requests to review requests you’ve received or check and cancel requests you’ve sent.
- If available in that game, check Recently met to take actions such as adding or blocking a player.
The EA Help article lists Battlefield 6, EA SPORTS College Football, EA SPORTS FC, FIFA, EA SPORTS Madden NFL, and EA SPORTS NHL as supported examples; support and feature availability can change. Check the menu in the specific game you play. EA Help

Invite a friend to a game
In EA Connect, select the online friend from the game’s Friends tab and choose the lobby invitation action. The friend must be able to join that game and mode. An invitation or lobby join can fail if either player has cross-play turned off when required, or if the mode does not support cross-play. EA Help
Find someone in Apex Legends
Apex Legends has its own in-game friend workflow. EA says cross-play is supported on EA app, Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch 2, and is enabled automatically. Open the in-game Friends menu, select Find Friend, and search using the player’s EA Public ID. This guidance is specific to Apex Legends; other EA games can use different menus, platforms, or cross-play rules. EA Help

Manage, remove, or block a player
Mute, block, or report from EA Connect
Select the player’s name and open Player actions to choose Mute, Block, or Report. Reporting prompts you to provide more information about the behavior or content. EA Help
Remove an EA friend
Select the person’s name, choose Remove as EA friend, and confirm. If you are still friends through the console or platform network, that connection may mean the player continues to appear in EA Connect’s Friends tab. EA Help

Manage blocked users in your EA Account
Open EA Account settings and go to Security and Privacy to manage your blocked users; you can remove someone from the list to unblock them. EA says blocking limits communication in EA games or on an EA platform. In games using EA Connect, a blocked person may still appear in a party created by someone else; the game may notify you and offer a mute option. You may also need to use your console or platform’s own block controls. EA Help

In EA Account settings, open Security and Privacy to review profile visibility and search options. EA lists visibility choices of Everyone, Friends, Friends of friends, and No one. The page also provides separate choices for showing achievements and your full name, as well as options for how other players can search for your profile.

For adult accounts, EA lists linked Xbox gamertag, PlayStation Network Online ID, Nintendo Account, Steam account name, and EA-account email as possible search routes. Which identifiers are available depends on the account and its settings; do not assume every route applies to every player. EA Help

Why can’t you find or add a friend?
- The profile is private: Ask the other player to send the request instead.
- You are checking the wrong list: An EA app friendship does not guarantee an in-game friendship. Check the game’s social menu as well as the EA app.
- The accounts are not linked: Confirm your EA Account is linked to the relevant console or platform account.
- Cross-play is unavailable or disabled: Check the game’s cross-play settings for both players and confirm that the specific game and mode support it.
- The game restricts cross-generation play: Rules differ by title. For example, EA’s FC guidance says that in the described cases a player on a new-generation console such as PS5 cannot play against a player on an older-generation console such as PS4. EA Help
- The app or connection is having trouble: Check your internet connection, restart the EA app, and install available updates. EA Help
