Prodigy Education’s support article, updated July 15, 2026, says, “There is currently no trading option for pets or items.” Friends can connect, play in the same world, and visit one another’s houses, but those features do not transfer inventory.
Can you trade items or pets with a friend in Prodigy?
No. Prodigy currently has no player-to-player trading option for items or pets, according to Prodigy Education’s support article, “Rescuing Pets and Restrictions,” updated July 15, 2026. There is no supported trade menu or other in-game method to send an item you own to another player.
Be cautious of instructions that promise a trade through a mailbox, duel, or third-party site. The official support guidance does not describe those as ways to transfer inventory.
What can you do with a friend instead?
Add them to your Friends List
Once your wizard reaches Level 5, you can click another player and select the Friend Request icon. The Friends List supports up to 20 friends. It helps you connect with players, but it does not provide item transfers. Prodigy’s Friends List and Classmate List guide also says there is no live chat, email, or instant messaging; Math chat uses predefined phrases.

Meet in the same world
At home, players can select the same world in their account settings to play together. School play matches a student with classmates, while home play assigns a world and lets friends choose the same one. Sharing a world lets you play alongside each other, not exchange inventory. See Prodigy’s multiplayer guide.
Let them visit your house
If you want a friend to see furniture or other items in your house, enable house visits with the lock control in the toolbar. Your friend can open your player card and choose “Visit House.” A visit is for viewing; it does not let the visitor take or receive your furniture. Prodigy’s house-visits guide notes that a lock-setting change can take 15–20 minutes to take effect.

Are parent and teacher rewards a way to gift a friend?
No. These are separate reward features for a parent’s linked child or a teacher’s classroom, not gifts from one player to another. A teacher can issue an in-game reward when the class reaches a goal. In the Parent App, parents with Plus or Ultra memberships can choose goal rewards for a linked child. Prodigy explains these options in its parent and teacher rewards guide.
