How to gift a Game Pass subscription directly

1. Open the Xbox Store or Microsoft Store for the recipient’s market and find the Game Pass subscription you want to give.
2. Look for Buy as a gift in the menu beside the regular purchase button. Xbox Wire describes this option for subscriptions, including Game Pass Ultimate, through console or the online store: Xbox Wire’s gifting guide.
3. If the option is available, enter the recipient and delivery details requested at checkout. Before paying, check the plan and region shown by the store; gifting is not established as available for every plan or country.

How to give an Xbox or Microsoft gift card instead

Do not assume a card bought in another country will work. Microsoft says Xbox gift cards are country-restricted, so choose the recipient’s country and local store region. Redeem to the right account

A code becomes associated with the account used to redeem it. Xbox’s redemption guidance tells users to sign in to the correct Microsoft account first because the code cannot be transferred afterward.
