EA warns that progress does not transfer and some rewards, points, and items remain with the EA Account first linked to that platform.
Before switching EA Accounts
Check the current link in EA Account settings under Connected Accounts. The EA Account is linked to your PlayStation account; the account switch is handled through EA’s account and game flow, not through a PS5 setting.
- Progress: EA says game progress does not transfer when you unlink a PlayStation account and link it to a different EA Account.
- Entitlements: Certain rewards, points, and items stay with the EA Account first linked to that platform. Check what matters to you before unlinking.
If the linked EA Account is yours but you cannot sign in, try to recover it before switching. Recovering the original account may be the better option if you want to keep using its progress and entitlements.
How to link a different EA Account on PS5
- Check the existing link. Sign in to EA Account settings and open Connected Accounts to see which PlayStation account is linked.
- Open the EA game on PS5. At the account prompt, choose Use another account if the option appears.
- Follow the unlink prompts. Confirm the unlink when prompted, then return to the game’s start screen if requested.
- Sign in to the EA Account you want to use. Enter its credentials. If EA asks for verification, retrieve the one-time code sent to the email registered to that account and enter it on the console.
- Check the result. If the game will not offer the option or displays an error, review Connected Accounts and EA’s unlinking and relinking guidance.
If you cannot switch accounts
The game does not show “Use another account”
Check the current link in Connected Accounts and confirm you can access the EA Account already attached to the PlayStation account. If that account is yours but inaccessible, use the recovery option from the game’s prompt or EA’s account recovery process before trying to replace it.

EA says the account is not eligible to unlink
EA’s unlinking troubleshooting guidance says a platform account linked less than one year ago may not be eligible for unlinking and relinking, and recommends recovering the existing account. EA also says one EA Account cannot be linked to two PSN IDs.
EA’s linking page separately says, “You can switch your linked accounts up to 3 times in a rolling year.” Because the two pages describe eligibility differently, do not assume that this is a guaranteed allowance or that a switch will be available in your case. Follow the message shown for your account; if the restriction is unclear, contact EA Help.

Your PlayStation account is a sub-account
EA says child or other limited PlayStation sub-accounts sharing a subscription cannot connect to an EA Account to play online. If this applies, changing EA Account credentials will not remove that restriction.
