If an expansion pack has disappeared from The Sims 4, first check whether it is merely uninstalled or unloaded. On PC or Mac, open the EA app Library, select The Sims 4, and choose Manage add-ons to download owned packs. In the game, check Pack Selection to load any packs that are currently turned off. On PlayStation or Xbox, manage The Sims 4’s downloadable content through the console. If the pack is missing from your account, verify the account and purchase before contacting support.
First, identify what “missing” means
An expansion pack can be absent for three different reasons: it is owned but not installed, installed but unloaded in the game, or not available to the account or platform you are using. Check in that order; reinstalling will not fix a purchase tied to another account, and a missing-pack warning does not necessarily mean the pack was removed from your ownership.

- Not installed: The pack is owned, but its download is absent or incomplete.
- Unloaded: The pack is installed, but turned off in Pack Selection.
- Ownership or account issue: The pack does not appear among the add-ons available to the account or platform in use.
Download an owned pack on PC or Mac
Expansion packs are add-ons, so they may not appear as separate game tiles in the EA app Library. Open the add-on manager for The Sims 4 instead. EA’s guide to finding missing games and add-ons and Sims 4 installation instructions describe these routes.
- Launch the EA app and sign in to the EA Account used to buy or redeem the pack.
- Open Library and select The Sims 4.
- Open the game’s three-dot menu and select Manage add-ons (the label may also appear as Add-ons).
- Find the owned pack that is not installed and choose its download or install option.
The base game must be installed and updated before installing additional content. If you bought a product code, redeem it in the EA app under Library > Redeem Code, then return to the game’s add-ons to download it. A PC disc purchase also uses its included code; after redemption, the pack is associated with the game details page.

Load packs that are installed but turned off
The Sims 4’s Pack Selection lets you load or unload packs. From the Main Menu, open Pack Selection, select the packs you want active, and confirm. If a save warns that packs are missing, choose the option to reload the missing content before continuing.
Do not continue playing and save over your original file while its pack content is missing. EA warns that continuing and saving in that state can cause issues. On PC, the game offers a copied-save option when loading a save with missing packs, so you can work from a copy rather than changing the original.

Unloading packs can affect existing saves and make their items or gameplay features unavailable. EA advises backing up saves and recommends disabling mods before unloading or reloading packs. Its pack-install guide cautions: “Removing Packs can impact existing save files, so it’s best to use this feature when creating a new save to avoid losing any content or progress.”
Restore packs on PlayStation or Xbox
Console packs are managed through the console account and game, not the EA app’s PC/Mac download controls. Use the PlayStation or Xbox account that purchased the pack, then open the console’s game-management or library area and locate The Sims 4 add-ons.

- Xbox: Check The Sims 4’s downloadable content in the console’s game-management area. Packs install after download unless automatic updates are disabled.
EA states that the console version is separate from PC/Mac, and progress does not carry over between them. A pack bought for one platform or account will not restore on another. See EA’s console installation guidance.
Check ownership and the account used to buy the pack
If the pack is not available in Manage add-ons or the console’s content list, check the entitlement before trying more downloads.

- Confirm that the EA Account signed into the EA app is the account used for the purchase or code redemption.
- Check Order History in the EA Account. If the order is absent, try other email addresses or EA Accounts you may have used.
- If you accessed the pack through EA Play rather than buying it, confirm that the membership is active.
- For a console purchase, verify the PlayStation or Xbox account that made it. Check EA account linking where relevant.
EA’s missing-game and add-on guidance explains how to check the EA app account and order details. Packs do not necessarily show as separate EA app Library entries; use the game’s add-on manager.

- Clear the EA app cache.
- Restart the app, then sign out and sign back in.
- If the add-on still does not appear, reinstall the EA app.
For a recent purchase, EA advises allowing up to 24 hours for the purchase and content to appear. If it is still missing after that, contact EA support and have the following information ready:
- The email address for the EA Account.
- Your platform and platform username.
- The missing pack and the date and time you acquired it.
- Proof of purchase, such as a receipt or transaction record.
EA says it cannot recover content purchased for the wrong platform or account. Its missing-content guidance covers what details to provide when reporting missing content.
