HoYoverse announced the update, “Flying Aureus Shot to Lupine Rue,” for September 10, 2024. It added Borisin Warhead: Hoolay as a story boss and introduced Shadow of Feixiao and Ecliptic Inner Beast in the new Echo of War: Inner Beast’s Battlefield.
Which bosses were shown for Version 2.5?
There are two different boss contexts, not one encounter containing all three names:
| Boss or encounter | Role in Version 2.5 |
|---|---|
| Borisin Warhead: Hoolay | A story boss. |
| Shadow of Feixiao and Ecliptic Inner Beast | The enemies featured in the new Echo of War stage, Inner Beast’s Battlefield. |
HoYoverse’s announcement previewed an Echo of War trial against a shadow of Feixiao and the apparition of Flying Aureus, Ecliptic Inner Beast. The update details also name Hoolay among the enemies. HoYoverse’s Version 2.5 announcement, reproduced by Sakura Index and the Version 2.5 update details distinguish the story enemy from the Echo of War encounter.
How does the Shadow of Feixiao Echo of War fight work?
The August 30, 2024 special-program recap describes a three-phase fight. Ecliptic Inner Beast joins Shadow of Feixiao in phase two, and its parts can apply different debuffs. Shadow of Feixiao can resonate with those parts to strengthen their next action. The livestream recap is the source for these encounter details.

Why breaking the Inner Beast’s parts matters
According to that recap, unbroken parts make Shadow of Feixiao’s all-target attack deal more damage. During Resonance, quickly weakness-breaking the parts reduces the danger; attacking parts that have been broken also deals additional damage to Shadow of Feixiao. These are the recap’s stated mechanics and tactics, not a claim of independent testing.
What does Inner Beast’s Battlefield reward?
The Version 2.5 update details list Auspice Sliver as the advanced Trace material earned from clearing Echo of War: Inner Beast’s Battlefield. They also list Shadow of Feixiao, Borisin Warhead: Hoolay, Opportunistic Provocateur and Daring Diceroller among the update’s enemies. See the reproduced update details.

Was the Version 2.5 boss leak real?
The encounters previewed before launch became part of the released Version 2.5 update. HoYoverse’s announcement, published August 31, 2024, named the update and its September 10 release date, and previewed the Feixiao and Ecliptic Inner Beast trial. A September 3 community preview preceded that announcement, but the later announcement and update details are the clearer confirmation of what shipped. Announcement details · Released update details.
