Deep Docks is an industrial forge built over a lake of lava. For a practical route, follow the lifts and switches through the upper rooms, collect the Gate Key, clear the enemy-wave arena, and continue to the Forge-Daughter and Lace. Shakra sells the area map; optional detours lead to Swift Step, Fleas, a Frayed Rosary String, and a Spool Fragment.
Room layouts and details below follow walkthroughs rather than a required route. Check current in-game prompts for prices and items, since guide-specific details can differ by version.
Get the map and open the route
At the start of Deep Docks, use the lifts and switches to move through the industrial rooms. Watch for gates and mechanisms that open routes or shortcuts as you explore. Shakra is the map vendor; the GameFAQs guide also reports that a fast-travel point can be unlocked for 50 Rosaries. That is a guide-specific price claim from a version updated November 17, 2025, so use the price shown in your game as the authority.
The Silksong Wiki walkthrough, last updated August 9, 2026, places a Gate Key before an enemy gauntlet and the Forge-Daughter beyond it. Treat this as a useful progression outline, not a requirement to take every turn in that order.

Optional detours and rewards
These finds are described in the GameFAQs route and are useful detours, but they do not establish a complete 100% inventory checklist.

The GameFAQs author also describes shortcuts that reduce backtracking. Check newly opened paths after operating switches or reaching a new section, especially around the arena and nearby rest point.

Clear the arena and reach the Forge-Daughter
The route described by the walkthroughs leads through an enemy-wave arena before the Forge-Daughter, a blacksmith-like NPC. Once through the encounter, activate the nearby shortcut and use the bench to rest before continuing. The Forge-Daughter’s inventory and prices are not fixed here: check what your current game offers rather than relying on a guide’s item list or cost.
How to approach Lace
Lace is the Deep Docks boss. The most dependable advice in the walkthroughs is to watch her movement, avoid trying to heal when she can punish you, and attack during her recovery windows.

- Watch before committing: Read the attack’s direction and timing, then dodge rather than trying to trade hits.
- Save healing for a safe opening: Do not heal during an active approach or attack; wait until you have created enough distance or reached a clear lull.
- Punish recovery: After avoiding an attack, use the brief recovery period to land a hit, then reset your spacing.
The GameFAQs guide offers a user-contributed breakdown that includes a diagonal leap, a defensive stance with a counter, a forward charge, and a short-range double attack. Those are observations from that guide, not official specifications; use Lace’s actual cues in your current fight rather than assuming fixed hit counts or phase timings.

The Hollow Knight Wiki reproduces Team Cherry’s description of Deep Docks as “a groaning structure atop (and within) a lake of lava.” The area’s lifts, gates, switches, and shortcuts fit that industrial setting, while the hazards make careful movement and route awareness useful.
