What you need to do to unlock Act 3
Defeating the Act 2 boss alone does not start Act 3. The transition runs through the Silk and Soul wish and the choice you make after the Grand Mother Silk fight.
- Make enough progress on the Bone Bottom, Bellhart, and Songclave wish boards for Silk and Soul to become available.
- Advance the Flea Caravan to Pale Lake and collect the Architect, Conductor, and Vaultkeeper melodies to open The Cradle.
- Speak with the Caretaker in Songclave when the Silk and Soul wish is available. Collect the three souls and Snare Setter, then hand them over so he can make the Soul Snare.
- Fight Grand Mother Silk. When prompted, play the Needolin rather than binding her.
- After the credits, return to the main menu and select the same save file to continue into Act 3.
How much side content is required?
The exact minimum is unsettled, so treat the common route as dependable guidance rather than a precise unlock formula. Nintendo Life’s February 27, 2026 walkthrough says the requirements remain debated. PC Gamer’s September 30, 2025 guide reports that players do not need every quest, every lost flea, or the Act 2 final boss defeated before Silk and Soul appears.

If Silk and Soul has not appeared, use this fuller route to cover the likely prerequisites:

- Build a Bellhart home and complete Shakra’s Trail’s End after buying all maps.
- Explore Bilewater and the Putrified Ducts.
- Move the Flea Caravan to Pale Lake. Walkthrough estimates differ: PC Gamer counted 22 fleas on its route; Nintendo Life estimates around 25. Neither figure is an official threshold.
- Collect the Architect, Conductor, and Vaultkeeper melodies to reach The Cradle.
- Consider fixing the Second Sentinel if you are following PCGamesN’s conservative checklist. PC Gamer says waking it seems unnecessary, so it is not established as a requirement.
These extra steps are a way to avoid getting stuck on a disputed threshold, not proof that every wish, map, flea, or side quest is mandatory.
Where to find the Silk and Soul items
Once the Caretaker offers Silk and Soul, gather three souls and the Snare Setter. Give all four items to him in Songclave; he will build the Soul Snare needed for the Grand Mother Silk encounter.

Seeker’s Soul
Reach the Seeker’s remains in Bilewater. Nintendo Life describes a route involving a fight with Groal; PCGamesN places the remains in an abandoned bellhome near the Bilewater boss arena.
Snare Setter
Search the hidden section of Weavenest Atla, below Bone Bottom in Moss Grotto, for the tool.

Secure the ending you want before entering Act 3
If you are trying to see every ending, complete the Twisted Child ending before moving into Act 3. Nintendo Life reports that entering Act 3 without cursing Hornet locks that ending out. The Needolin choice after Grand Mother Silk is the Act 3 transition; do not choose it until you have handled that ending if it matters to your playthrough.

Act 3 adds routes and areas, while closing some paths used earlier. It also introduces additional wishes and bosses and makes two more endings accessible. Combat becomes more demanding: Nintendo Life notes that Void-affected enemies can deal two masks of damage and drain some silk, while PC Gamer particularly cautions about the gauntlet battles.
