Hollow Knight: Silksong has five commonly documented ending sequences: Weaver Queen, Twisted Child, Snared Silk, Sister of the Void, and the Passing of the Age epilogue. On one save, get Weaver Queen and Twisted Child before choosing Needolin after Grand Mother Silk; that choice triggers Snared Silk, opens Act 3, and permanently closes the first two routes on that save.
A practical order is Weaver Queen → Twisted Child → Snared Silk → Sister of the Void → Passing of the Age. The Weaver Queen route returns you to a pre-boss state, so you can attempt another Act 2 ending before advancing. This guide explains how to unlock every ending, including the Act 3 route and the extra epilogue scene.
How the five ending sequences differ

1. Weaver Queen: bind Grand Mother Silk
At the end of the standard Act 2 route, defeat Grand Mother Silk and choose to bind her. This is the default ending if you finish the fight without completing the Silk and Soul route. After the ending sequence, the save returns to a state before the boss, allowing you to prepare for another Act 2 ending.
2. Twisted Child: fight while cursed
Complete the Rite of Rebirth to obtain the curse, then keep it active when you fight Grand Mother Silk. The Twisted Bud curse disables healing and tool use and limits silk, according to PC Gamer’s Twisted Child guide.

- Do not complete Infestation Operation to cure the curse before the fight; curing it prevents this ending on that progression.
- Get Twisted Child before triggering Snared Silk, which moves the save into Act 3.
3. Snared Silk: complete Silk and Soul to unlock Act 3
Unlock and accept the wish
Silk and Soul is given by the Caretaker in Songclave or can be made available through a Wishwall. Published guides differ on the exact side-quest threshold, so treat their checklists as routes to make the wish available rather than proof that every task is mandatory.
PC Gamer reports that you do not need every quest, flea, town wish, or the final boss before Silk and Soul becomes available. Its route includes completing most Wish Wall quests in Bone Bottom, Bellhart, and Songclave; moving the Flea Caravan to Pale Lake in Putrified Ducts; collecting the Architect, Conductor, and Vaultkeeper melodies; and reaching the Cradle. Nintendo Life offers a more conservative checklist: collect the Threefold Melodies and unlock the Cradle; finish its listed wishes in Bone Bottom, Bellhart, and Songclave; acquire Bellhome; complete Shakra’s Trail’s End wish; explore Bilewater and Putrified Ducts; move the caravan to Pale Lake (the guide estimates around 25 Fleas); and complete Silk and Soul. The guide itself says the exact conditions were still debated on February 27, 2026. Its list is a thorough path, not confirmation that each item is a universal hard requirement. A community-maintained Hollow Knight Wiki entry on Silk and Soul gives a more specific threshold: 17 Quest Points, accessed in 2026. It says there are 25 possible points: 22 from normal wishes and 3 from six delivery wishes, which award points only once. This is wiki information, not an official Team Cherry requirement; the practical set of quests that gets a player to the threshold can vary.

Collect the four Soul Snare components
Once Silk and Soul is available and accepted, gather all four components. These collection steps are separate from the side-quest prerequisites for unlocking the wish.
- Maiden’s Soul: Chapel Maid in Bone Bottom.
- Hermit’s Soul: Bell Hermit in Bellhart.
- Seeker’s Soul: found after defeating Groal the Great in Bilewater.
- Snare Setter: hidden workshop in Weavenest Atla.
Choose Needolin after the fight
Return the components to the Caretaker, then return to Grand Mother Silk. After defeating her, choose Needolin rather than binding her. That triggers Snared Silk and opens Act 3. For a single-save run, make this choice only after finishing the Weaver Queen and Twisted Child routes.

4. Sister of the Void: defeat Lost Lace in the Abyss
After Snared Silk, progress through Act 3 toward the Abyss. PC Gamer identifies The Dark Below and The Old Hearts as quests leading toward it. Defeat Lost Lace in the Abyss to complete Sister of the Void. Some guides call this the “true” ending, but that is guide wording; the available sources do not establish an official Team Cherry declaration that it is canon.
5. Passing of the Age: complete Mister Mushroom’s wish
Before finishing Act 3, find and listen to Mister Mushroom at all seven locations to complete the Passing of the Age wish. Then complete Sister of the Void. The additional scene follows the Act 3 ending sequence, making Passing of the Age an epilogue rather than a separate replacement for that finale.
