Into the Dead 2 has three endings. The reported route is to finish the main story, complete every red challenge for the second ending, then complete every yellow challenge for the third. After unlocking the later outcomes, replay the final chapter to view them. The game’s official listings confirm the three-ending count; the color-coded requirements and replay steps come from player reports, not a published publisher guide.
How many endings does Into the Dead 2 have?
Nintendo’s official listing for the Switch edition advertises “3 different endings to discover.” It describes a campaign of 60 story levels across seven chapters. The App Store listing also describes multiple endings across a seven-chapter, 60-stage story. Those sources establish the number of outcomes, but do not spell out how to unlock each one.
Community-reported unlock order
Players report the following sequence. Treat it as a practical guide rather than a guaranteed rule for every edition, because official platform and support pages located for this guide confirm the ending count but not these specific challenge thresholds.
- Unlock the first ending: complete the main story.
- Unlock the second ending: complete all red challenges.
- Unlock the third ending: complete all yellow challenges.
- Watch the later endings: replay the final chapter. Community reports say that once the additional outcomes are unlocked, the ending and difficulty can be selected.
If you have finished the campaign but have not seen the other outcomes, return to story stages and work through the relevant challenge sets, then revisit the final chapter. Netflix’s support information confirms that story levels can be replayed and challenge stars unlock levels, though it does not verify the red/yellow ending thresholds.

Which edition are you playing?
Original mobile or Switch edition
The Nintendo Switch listing confirms three endings for that edition, but does not publish the challenge-by-challenge unlock sequence. The App Store describes the mobile story as having multiple endings, but likewise does not establish the red and yellow requirements. Check the challenge labels in your own game and use the player-reported sequence as a guide.
Into the Dead 2: Unleashed on Netflix
Netflix says Into the Dead 2: Unleashed shares the original’s storyline and lore while differing in some gameplay details. Netflix also states that Unleashed and the original are separate editions and do not share progression. Its Story mode has seven chapters and 60 stages, but the support material does not provide a complete comparison of ending requirements across editions. Do not expect a save or challenge progress in one edition to unlock endings in the other.

What is confirmed—and what is not
- Confirmed by Nintendo’s Switch listing: three endings, with 60 story levels across seven chapters.
- Confirmed by Netflix support for Unleashed: seven chapters and 60 stages, replayable story levels, and progression separate from the original edition.
- Reported by players, not established by the official sources above: main story for ending one, all red challenges for ending two, all yellow challenges for ending three, then replay the final chapter to view the later endings.
The Into the Dead 2 community wiki says the story has three endings and identifies the third as canon; that is community-maintained narrative context, not an official confirmation of the unlock mechanics.
