Plan for about 19–21 hours for a broad completionist run of Undertale. That estimate reflects community time reports, not a guaranteed finish time or an official benchmark. If by “100%” you mean unlocking every Xbox achievement, the separate estimate is 4–5 hours—a much narrower, platform-specific target.

Why “100%” can mean different things
There is no single completion endpoint established by these time trackers. Stash calls its category “100% completion,” HowLongToBeat calls its category “Completionist,” and TrueAchievements counts Xbox achievements. Those are different targets, so the 4–5-hour achievement estimate should not be compared with the 19–21-hour completionist estimates as if they measured the same run.

Undertale is listed for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Xbox on the official website. The 21-achievement count and 4–5-hour estimate apply specifically to Xbox; they do not establish that other versions use the same achievement system.

If you want to finish the story, use roughly 6.5–7 hours as an orientation point. For story plus extras, the reported figure is about 11 hours. For a broad completionist target, budget around 19–21 hours. These are community aggregates rather than controlled tests, so your actual time may differ; the cited sources do not quantify how much particular play styles or prior familiarity change the result.
