Use the End’s central exit portal—not an End gateway—to send a shulker to the Overworld. The community-documented method is to move it near the exit portal, limit where it can teleport with buttons, and guide it into the portal. It arrives at the Overworld world spawn. The exact setup can depend on edition and version.
What you need to do
Shulkers live in End Cities, according to Mojang’s End City overview. The transport procedure comes from community-maintained Minecraft Wiki material, rather than an official Mojang how-to.
- Find a shulker in an End City.
- Move it toward the central exit portal. The Minecraft Wiki shulker tutorial describes using a minecart to bring it closer.
- Restrict its teleport destinations. The tutorial describes placing buttons over possible teleport locations, leaving the intended exit-portal position available. Follow a setup designed for your edition and game version; the placement is technical and should not be assumed to work identically in every version.
- Get the shulker into the exit portal. It is transported to the Overworld world spawn. Look for it there, then use a minecart to move it to your chosen holding area if needed.
Use the exit portal, not an End gateway
The central exit portal returns entities from the End to the Overworld. An End gateway serves a different purpose: it takes players to the outer End islands. For this transfer, use the central exit portal. See the Minecraft Wiki reference on End portals and its End gateway reference.
Account for the Java and Bedrock difference
The Minecraft Wiki’s exit-portal reference says that in Java Edition, entities with passengers can pass through the exit portal. That allows a shulker to travel while riding in a boat or minecart. In Bedrock Edition, entities with passengers cannot pass through the exit portal, so dismount the shulker before attempting the transfer. Check the behavior in your current game version and test the setup somewhere safe before risking a valuable shulker; the available references do not establish that every design works across current versions.
