The PlayStation Store runs sales repeatedly throughout the year, but Sony’s announcements do not establish a fixed monthly schedule or guaranteed dates. Seasonal examples include New Year and holiday promotions, Days of Play around late May or early June, and Black Friday in November. Offers and dates vary by region, so check your local Store listing for the current price and the game’s end date.

When does the PlayStation Store usually have sales?

Sony has announced PlayStation Store promotions at several points in the year. The examples below show recurring seasonal windows, not a complete calendar or a promise that a sale will happen on the same dates every year.

New Year and holidays: The Holiday Sale ran from December 21, 2022, to January 6, 2023; Sony announced a further Holiday Sale refresh from January 4 to January 18, 2023. New Year Deals followed from January 15 to January 29, 2025. Sony’s 2022 Holiday Sale announcement, 2023 refresh announcement, and 2025 New Year Deals announcement.
Days of Play: Recent Store events ran May 29–June 12, 2024; May 28–June 11, 2025; and May 27–June 10, 2026. The 2026 event included selected Store games, with additional discounts on selected titles for PlayStation Plus members. Days of Play 2024, Days of Play 2025, and Days of Play 2026.
Black Friday: PlayStation’s 2024 Black Friday promotion ran November 22–December 2. Store offers were part of a broader promotion and varied by region and retailer; hardware offers were separate from digital Store game deals. Sony’s Black Friday 2024 announcement.

How long do PlayStation Store sales last?

Several of these announced events lasted about two weeks, but that does not mean every game stays discounted for the full promotion. In the 2022 Holiday Sale, some titles left on January 4, before the overall sale ended on January 6, and the lineup refreshed on January 4. Sony also noted that individual titles in the January 2023 refresh had their own end dates. Check the specific product listing rather than relying only on the event’s advertised dates.

Do sales happen every month, and can you predict the next one?

The published examples do not support a claim that the PlayStation Store goes on sale every month, follows a fixed interval, or has a predictable next sale date. They also cannot establish the total number of Store promotions in a year. Sony’s 2026 Days of Play announcement is a recent dated example, not a forecast of later events.

When should you check for a game you want?

If a game is not discounted now, you can set reminders around the seasonal windows above and check your local Store again. That is a practical way to use the historical pattern, not an official Sony schedule or a prediction that a specific game will be discounted. The announcements do not establish when an individual title will next go on sale or what its future price will be.
