Where to find Victor and Shadowbeak
The boss is at the PAL Genetic Research Unit Tower in the Astral Mountains. A commonly cited map location is around (-148, 447), though map references vary slightly; use the tower name and the in-game map as your main navigation cues. The normal tower encounter is level 50. The Palworld Wiki tower table and PalworldGuide’s encounter guide list the location and normal level.
What to bring to the fight
Prioritize Dragon damage
Shadowbeak is Dark type, and guides identify Dragon as its weakness. Build your party around Dragon attacks rather than relying on Neutral damage. Palworld.tools’ boss reference also lists Dragon as the counter matchup.
Balance damage with survivability
Choose Pals that can deal Dragon damage while surviving mistakes, and bring the best ranged weapon your progression allows. There is no evidence that a fully bred, max-condensed, or perfect-stat team is required. Level 50 describes the boss, not a guarantee that a level 50 player or team will be ready to win.

One community-reported option is to ride Chillet, whose mounted skill converts the player’s attacks to Dragon damage. Treat this as an optional tactic rather than a necessary or universally optimal build. A Reddit player describes the approach.
How to beat Victor and Shadowbeak
- Start at range. Use ranged attacks and let your Pals contribute damage while you stay ready to move.
- Keep repositioning. Do not stand still to trade hits. Move around the arena so you can respond to Shadowbeak’s attacks and avoid being caught by heavy damage.
- Dodge the heavy attacks. Dark Laser is specifically described as a heavy hit. Watch for the attack and evade rather than trying to absorb it. Avoid committing to long attacks when Shadowbeak is about to strike.
- Use openings to deal Dragon damage. Once an attack has passed and you have space, resume firing or let your Dragon-focused Pals attack. Repeat the move-and-dodge rhythm instead of forcing damage through incoming attacks.
A guide lists Dark Laser, Poison Shower, Spirit Flame, and Dark Cannon among Shadowbeak’s moves. The exact power and cooldown figures sometimes published for these attacks are guide or game-data claims, not an independently verified combat log; focus on reading the attacks and staying mobile rather than timing a dodge to a promised number of seconds. Normal fight and harder rematches
For the standard tower encounter, the supported level reference is 50. Hard-mode references are inconsistent: one tower table lists level 55, while another guide describes a level 80 hard rematch and reports 570,000 HP. The latter guide also reports 105,000 HP for the normal fight and says its figures are datamined from game build 1.100.427. Those values should not be treated as universal current stats; check the current game build and mode before relying on them.

PC Gamer reported on July 29, 2026, that Palworld version 1.0.2 fixed a multiplayer issue in which Victor and Shadowbeak could disappear after teleporting. If the boss vanishes in multiplayer, check that your game is up to date and consult the current patch notes. PC Gamer’s report on the 1.0.2 fix describes the issue.
