| Color | Category | Words |
|---|---|---|
| Yellow | PEACHY KEEN | NEAT, NIFTY, SUPER, SWELL |
| Green | PROVIDE MORE DETAILS | ELABORATE, EXPAND, EXPLAIN, SPECIFY |
| Blue | ABILITY TO DO SOMETHING WELL | FACILITY, FLAIR, GIFT, KNACK |
| Purple | GROUP OF BUILDINGS | BLOCK, COMPLEX, COMPOUND, DEVELOPMENT |
Why the words fit

NEAT, NIFTY, SUPER, and SWELL can each describe something excellent or pleasing.
Green: PROVIDE MORE DETAILS
ELABORATE, EXPAND, EXPLAIN, and SPECIFY are ways to make a statement fuller or clearer.
#1 Best Overall
Blue: ABILITY TO DO SOMETHING WELL
FACILITY, FLAIR, GIFT, and KNACK all describe aptitude or talent. FACILITY can also bring a building to mind, but here it belongs with the ability words.
Purple: GROUP OF BUILDINGS
BLOCK, COMPLEX, COMPOUND, and DEVELOPMENT can each refer to a cluster or group of buildings.

One useful route is to spot the straightforward praise words first, then look at the verbs that could answer a request for clarification. The remaining aptitude terms form a clear set; the built-environment words make up the final group. The board contains plausible overlap, so compare each word with the whole set rather than locking in a category based on one meaning.
Connections asks players to find four groups of four words. Shared meanings and wordplay can make a word seem to fit more than one category, which is why testing a complete set matters.
