How to solve the trickiest overlap
Separate airport information from athlete details
NUMBER and POSITION can both seem plausible as airport-board entries, but they belong with COLLEGE and TEAM in the professional-athlete group. The airport set is ARRIVAL, DESTINATION, FLIGHT, and GATE. TechRadar’s writer describes considering NUMBER and POSITION as airport candidates before finding the intended set; that is the writer’s account of solving this board.

Spot the less literal farmer connection
ALMANAC, INSURANCE, MARKET, and TAN form the unusual purple category, FARMERS’ THINGS. The connection is broader than a list of tools: the words are associated with farming and farmers.

Connections presents 16 terms and asks players to sort them into four groups of four based on a shared connection. Players have a limited number of mistakes—up to four—so it helps to look for a complete pattern before submitting a group. For a general overview of the game’s format, see The New York Times Connections.
