Best base-game route for Player Level
1. Progress through Episode Battles
PowerPyx recommends Episode Battles as the main route for raising Player Level. Work through the available fights rather than repeating a single match on the assumption that it is the most efficient farm; there is no controlled comparison showing which activity awards the most Player Level progress per minute.
2. Complete offline tournaments
After making progress in Episode Battles, PowerPyx suggests playing one of each offline tournament. This gives you another progression activity without relying on an unverified repeatable exploit or rate.

3. Add Bonus Battles and optional story paths
If you want more progress—or need Zeni as well—PowerPyx points to Bonus Battles and optional Episode Battle paths as follow-ups. Choose the available content you have not completed; the guide does not publish a measured XP-per-minute comparison among these options.
How quickly can you reach Player Level 20?
PowerPyx estimates around 15 hours to reach Player Level 20. That is a third-party estimate, not an official benchmark or guarantee; your time will depend on what you play and how quickly you complete it. The available sources do not provide an official base-game XP table or a verified fastest leveling rate.

Online fights and Player Level
PowerPyx says fights in both offline and online modes increase Player Level. Online play is therefore an option if you prefer it, but the guide does not show that online matches are faster than Episode Battles or offline tournaments.

Limit-Breaker Journey, introduced with the Super Limit-Breaking NEO DLC in July 2026, uses a separate character-progression system. In that mode, EXP raises a fighter’s SP and parameters; it is not evidence of a boost to the base game’s Player Level.

DLC-mode ways to earn more EXP
Bandai Namco’s official preview says higher difficulty awards more EXP. It also describes spending Zeni on items that increase EXP, or choosing options that strengthen enemies for a higher-risk EXP reward. The preview explicitly cautions that its playtest build may differ from the released version, so these details apply to Limit-Breaker Journey and should not be treated as confirmed base-game leveling methods.
The preview described an initial opponent SP range of 1 to 50 in its playtest, with higher levels unlocked by completing content. Bandai Namco Europe’s mode overview says battles and events grant EXP, journeys can be replayed, and trained characters can be used in offline and player-versus-player battles.
