Today’s Connections answers
| Color | Category | Words |
|---|---|---|
| Yellow | Percussion instruments | BELL, DRUM, RATTLE, TRIANGLE |
| Green | Satisfy, as debts | CLEAR, PAY, SETTLE, SQUARE |
| Blue | Words in a famous quote by Caesar | CAME, CONQUERED, I, SAW |
| Purple | Latin prepositions | AB, PRO, SINE, SUB |
Why the words belong together
Yellow: Percussion instruments
A bell, drum, rattle, and triangle all make sound when struck or shaken. “Triangle” is the instrument here, rather than the geometric shape.
Green: Satisfy, as debts
You can clear, pay, settle, or square a debt. In this group, “square” means to settle an obligation, not a shape.

#1 Best Overall
Blue: Words in a famous quote by Caesar
The four words form the familiar saying “I came, I saw, I conquered.” The board presents them out of order; reading them in the quotation’s order reveals the connection.
Purple: Latin prepositions
AB, PRO, SINE, and SUB are Latin prepositions. This is the most specialized group and accounts for the short words left after the other sets are identified.

A useful way to work through the board
-
Look first for concrete instruments: BELL, DRUM, RATTLE, and TRIANGLE make a coherent set.
-
Consider alternate meanings before locking in an apparent group. CLEAR, PAY, SETTLE, and SQUARE all work with the idea of discharging a debt.

Read possible wordplay aloud. CAME, CONQUERED, I, and SAW become recognizable when arranged as “I came, I saw, I conquered.”
-
Use what remains to check the specialized category: AB, PRO, SINE, and SUB are Latin prepositions.
Words such as SAW can be read as a tool or as a verb, while TRIANGLE and SQUARE can suggest shapes. When a tempting connection appears, check that it uses exactly four words and still leaves four consistent groups across the full board.
Connections asks players to sort sixteen words into four groups of four based on shared relationships; some links depend on wordplay, and apparent clusters may be misleading. Insider Gaming’s November 10, 2025, solution and TechRadar’s answer page list the same word bank and groups.
