For the 0.5.5 patch context, one current Bear Druid route is a Rampage-focused Shaman: use Rampage to move and clear, add Walking Calamity and a Herald for area damage, then bring Shockwave Totem into the setup for bosses. This is the build author’s recommendation, not a universal or independently tested best build. The advice below reflects Ronarray’s guide updated September 1, 2026; check the live client and linked guide for changes to skills, items, and balance.
What you need to play in Bear form
A Talisman is the weapon basis for shapeshifting. Grinding Gear Games describes Talismans as two-handed martial weapons: equipping one shapeshifts your character and grants that form’s basic attack, and you can swap your chosen form. See the official 0.4.0 patch notes for the introduction of Druid, Shaman, Oracle, and Talismans.
For patch 0.5.5, ExileDB’s third-party reference, marked checked against game files, lists seven Bear skills and reports two Bear-form armour bonuses. Treat this as a reference rather than a substitute for checking skill descriptions in the live client.
| Bear skill | Reference description |
|---|---|
| Ferocious Roar | Grants Rage when enemies are nearby and empowers subsequent attacks to break armour. |
| Furious Slam | Creates two shockwaves; spending Rage makes larger shockwaves that leave Jagged Ground. |
| Fury of the Mountain | Repeatedly pounds the ground and creates Molten Fissures. |
| Maul | Generates Rage on hit. |
| Molten Crash | Listed as a Bear skill; the reference description does not establish further mechanics here. |
| Rampage | Listed as a Bear skill and used as the movement and clearing engine in the guide below. |
| Walking Calamity | Listed as a Bear skill and used for clear alongside Rampage in the guide below. |
ExileDB also lists Bear form as granting “+30% of Armour also applies to Elemental Damage” and “+10 to Armour per Level.” These are database-reported values for 0.5.5, not promises that the same numbers will remain in later patches. Reference: ExileDB Druid forms and skills.

How the Rampage Bear Shaman setup works
Ronarray’s 0.5.5 FR guide, updated September 1, 2026, builds around Rampage. Its proposed skills change with the task:
- Mapping and general clear: Rampage for movement and clearing, supported by Walking Calamity and a Herald.
- Bossing: Add Shockwave Totem alongside Rampage and Walking Calamity.
The guide author describes the setup as fast-moving and presents a tanky configuration using Armour and Defiance of Destiny. These are the author’s build-page assessments, not independently verified performance benchmarks. The guide also identifies Rage management and animations as drawbacks, so expect the play feel to depend on how comfortably you can maintain Rage and work around attack timing.

How to progress from campaign to endgame
Do not treat the min-max version as a campaign requirement. The guide separates its advice into Act 1–3, Act 4/interlude, early endgame, mid endgame, late endgame, and min-max stages. Follow the version that matches your character’s progress and resources; the min-max setup is described as expensive.
- Acts 1–3: Use the guide’s campaign-stage setup as a starting point, then adapt to the Talismans, skill options, and gear you actually have.
- Act 4 and interlude: Move to the guide’s next progression version rather than assuming the early campaign setup stays optimal.
- Early, mid, and late endgame: Use the corresponding stage-specific versions as your character and gear develop. The guide’s recommendations are specific to its listed patch context.
- Min-max: Consider this only when your budget and available items support it; it is not presented as necessary to start the league or reach endgame.
The guide’s vendor-search regex is a convenience for finding movement-speed boots, skill levels, and attack-speed items. Focus on those stated gear priorities rather than treating one search string as a complete gearing plan. The available information does not establish a complete item-by-item progression list, support-gem sequence, or passive-tree route. Those choices should come from the current guide version and your drops, budget, and patch.

Patch-sensitive gear and clear details
The guide says that, after a nerf to Bhatair’s Vengeance, it wants more Cold damage on gear and additional Physical damage on the weapon for reliable explosions. It suggests Polcirkeln or Herald of Ash as alternatives when Herald of Ice explosions are inconsistent. These are the author’s recommendations for the guide’s patch context, not evergreen item rules; check the current build page and in-game item and skill descriptions before committing resources.
See Ronarray’s Bear Shaman guide for its staged setups and the details of its current skill links, passives, and gear. Use those specifics as a patch- and budget-dependent build plan, not as a fixed list that applies to every character.
