NYT Connections #895 is the puzzle dated Saturday, November 22, 2025. The groups are LITTLE BIT, SAILOR, TROPICAL FRUITS/VEGETABLES and ____ DEAL. This is a historical answer guide, not the answer to the current day’s puzzle. Spoilers follow.

Hints for Connections #895

Use these clues in order if you want to preserve some of the puzzle:

  1. A small amount.
  2. Nautical people or slang.
  3. Tropical edible plants.
  4. A word that can come before “deal.”

Connections #895 answers

The four categories and their words are:

Color Category Words Connection
Yellow LITTLE BIT DAB, DROP, SPLASH, TOUCH Each can mean a small amount.
Green SAILOR SALTY DOG, SKIPPER, SWAB, TAR Each is a sailor or a nautical term for one.
Blue TROPICAL FRUITS/VEGETABLES BITTER MELON, CHAYOTE, DURIAN, SOURSOP The group consists of tropical edible plants.
Purple ____ DEAL BIG, PLEA, RAW, SWEETHEART Each word forms a phrase before “deal”: big deal, plea deal, raw deal and sweetheart deal.

A possible way to spot the groups

This is a reconstruction from the confirmed groupings, not a tested play sequence. Start with DAB, DROP, SPLASH and TOUCH: all can describe a little bit. SALTY DOG, SKIPPER, SWAB and TAR point to sailors and nautical language. The tropical edible plants make up the blue group. The remaining words each precede “deal,” forming the purple set.

How Connections works

Connections asks players to sort sixteen words into four groups of four. The consulted answer guides describe limited attempts and color-coded difficulty tiers; the game is available through NYT Games on desktop and mobile. These game details come from secondary guides, not an official NYT rules page. The answer key for #895 is reported consistently by Parade, TechRadar and Forbes; the sources are answer guides rather than an official NYT archive.
