Catch Mastery: Archen took place on Sunday, March 16, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. local time. During the event, Field Research tasks focused on Poké Ball throwing accuracy could lead to Archen encounters. Event Timed Research focused on catching Rock-type Pokémon.

According to the Pokémon GO event announcement, completing 10 sets of event Timed Research offered 40 Archen encounters and an increased chance of encountering Shiny Archen.
Paid Timed Research
A separate paid Timed Research offer provided 40 additional Archen encounters. Its tasks had to be completed and rewards claimed by 8:00 p.m. local time on March 16, 2025. Those 40 encounters were additional opportunities to find Archen, not a guarantee of a shiny.

Did the event publish Shiny Archen odds?
No numerical Shiny Archen rate was given in the official announcement. It described the shiny chance as increased, but that wording does not establish a specific probability. The 40 encounters from each research option were encounter counts, not shiny odds.
Can you still get Shiny Archen through this event?
No. Catch Mastery: Archen ended at 8:00 p.m. local time on March 16, 2025, and its event research and paid Timed Research offer have expired. The event announcement does not establish whether Archen is currently available through other Pokémon GO encounters. Check current official Pokémon GO announcements for any present-day availability.

The event also increased the chance of encountering Shiny Omanyte and Shiny Kabuto. Successful catches with Nice Throws or better earned 2× XP, as did successful Curveball catches.
