Goumang stays out of reach while two Jiangshi attack. To hurt her, defeat one of them: she will descend to revive it, leaving a brief opening to attack her directly. Build Qi while managing the soldiers, then spend your strongest attacks and arrows during that opening.
How Goumang’s fight works
You encounter the Agriculture Zone’s Sol in Agrarian Hall during the Greenhouse section. She commands two Jiangshi: Shinue and Shiqiu. Defeating either soldier prompts Goumang to descend and try to revive it; she is vulnerable for roughly 6.25 seconds. That duration is listed as 6.250 seconds by the Nine Sols Wiki; treat it as an approximate window, not a guaranteed timing for every version.
You must damage Goumang herself to win. The GameFAQs walkthrough and the Wiki list her at 800 HP. These are guide figures, not independently measured statistics.
Which Jiangshi attacks to watch
Shinue: fast attacks and a spear
The smaller soldier uses slashes and stabs, including a downward slam followed by a stab. It can also throw a spear. A precise parry reflects the spear into five smaller projectiles. If you do not parry it, the spear can remain on the ground briefly and deal contact damage, though attacks can destroy it.

Shiqiu: slower Crimson attacks
The larger soldier uses a three-strike Crimson sequence, upward swipes, and a jump ending in a slam. Its Crimson hits can set Yi on fire. The GameFAQs walkthrough also notes a ground lunge followed by a double swipe.
Keep track of both enemies: Shinue can interrupt you with faster attacks or a spear while you respond to Shiqiu’s slower, distinct moves.

How to damage Goumang during the revival
- Learn each soldier’s patterns. Watch Shiqiu’s Crimson sequence and Shinue’s faster attacks separately. Avoid letting one enemy pin you while the other attacks from another angle.
- Build Qi before triggering the opening. Use the Jiangshi to build Qi, and save arrows and strong attacks for Goumang’s descent. The GameFAQs walkthrough recommends Medical, Ricochet, and Stasis Jades, but these are optional suggestions, not required equipment.
- Set up the knockdown. Weaken the soldiers and position yourself so you can reach Goumang as she descends. The Steam Community guide recommends damaging both soldiers roughly evenly, then alternating which one you defeat to create repeated openings. It is one workable tactic, not a mandatory sequence.
- Attack Goumang immediately. The opening lasts only a little over six seconds in the guides cited above. Use your saved damage resources rather than spending the window chasing the soldiers.
- Reposition if the pair close in. The GameFAQs walkthrough suggests crossing the arena to bait Shinue’s attacks and dashing through Shiqiu’s Crimson attacks. Adjust the spacing to your upgrades and timing; no single approach is required.
What to prioritize if you keep losing the opening
- If you are hit while focused on Shiqiu, account for Shinue’s spear and faster attacks before committing to a long attack.
- If Goumang revives a soldier before you deal much damage, build Qi and save your strongest attacks for the next descent rather than chasing her while she is out of reach.
- If both soldiers converge, create space and draw out their attacks before trying to defeat one. The fight rewards controlled positioning and short, deliberate damage windows.
