- One group consists of words meaning to make someone or something leave.
- One group names parts or types of solid ground.
- One group contains names of seas.
- One group consists of movie titles associated with the same actor.

The April 23 archive entry lists the puzzle as #318. The groups are:

Why the puzzle number is #318, not #317
The title’s number conflicts with the dated archive listings: April 23, 2024 is #318, while April 22 is #317. The Connections Answer archive also associates #317 with April 22. A Reddit discussion from April 23 refers to that day’s game as #318 as well, providing additional corroboration: Reddit’s NYT Connections community.
