To play across platforms when one player is on Steam, open Options and choose Enable Universal Multiplayer. The alternative, Enable Steam Only Multiplayer, limits matchmaking to the Steam ecosystem. Then find your friend through the game’s crossplay friends and invites interface.
Set up crossplay
- Update the game on both devices. Use the latest available update on each platform so you are less likely to run into a version mismatch. The official guidance does not specify a minimum version.
- Choose the right Steam setting if either player is on Steam. In the game, open Options and select Enable Universal Multiplayer for crossplay. Raccoon Logic Studios Inc. says this setting is in the Options menu and that Epic Online Services remains available, especially for crossplay sessions. Read the December 12, 2025 Steam Community update. Steam Only is for matchmaking within the Steam ecosystem.
- Find and invite your friend in-game. Open the friends or crossplay invites interface and look for the other player. Raccoon Logic’s August 18, 2025 update refers to a Crossplay Invites menu and says Xbox and Epic friends appear in the crossplay friends list. See the update notes.
Why can’t I see my cross-platform friend?
- Confirm the Steam player has selected Enable Universal Multiplayer, not Steam Only.
- Check that both players are online and visible to friends. The August 2025 update fixed an issue affecting players set to Offline, so visibility status is worth checking.
- Check that both games are updated, then look again in the in-game crossplay friends or invites menu.
- Do not assume every platform pairing is supported. The official pages describe crossplay broadly, but do not provide a complete, current compatibility matrix for every platform combination. If the friend still does not appear, consult current official patch notes or contact support.
Check platform requirements
Xbox console
Microsoft’s Xbox store listing describes the game as supporting online co-op for two players and Xbox cross-platform co-op. It also says online multiplayer on console requires Xbox Game Pass Essential, Premium, or Ultimate. These details establish Xbox’s listed capability and requirement; they do not guarantee a specific pairing with PlayStation or PC. Check the Xbox listing.
Other platform combinations
The publisher lists Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, Epic Games Store, and GOG as purchase platforms, but that list is not a crossplay compatibility chart. The official material available does not confirm every combination individually. See the publisher’s platform list.
If crossplay still will not connect
When the setting and visibility checks do not solve the problem, send the developer the platform and device for each player, the distribution platform (such as Steam or Epic Games Store), what appears on screen, and what happened immediately before the issue. You can use the publisher’s support page or ask through its official Discord.
