How to ask Steam to withdraw a pending refund

Go to Steam Help and sign in to the account used for the purchase.

Open Purchases and select the relevant purchase or existing support item. Steam’s documented refund process starts from the Purchases section; see How To Request A Refund.

Contact Steam Support and say clearly that you want to withdraw the pending refund request. Include the game or purchase title, approximate purchase date, and any details of the request you can see. Steam’s guidance directs customers to its support process, but does not promise that a submitted request can be stopped.

If Steam has already approved the refund
Check the request status and the payment method used before treating the refund as missing. According to Steam’s Common Refund Questions, approved refunds can take up to seven days to appear; approved refunds to Steam Wallet may take 24–48 hours.
If you changed your mind after approval, contact Steam Support through the purchase or existing support item and explain what happened. The published guidance does not promise that an approved refund can be reversed or that the original purchase can be restored.

Why a transaction may not show as refunded
A payment cancelled within 24 hours may not appear as a credit if the payment was never collected and the bank later releases its authorization hold. The timing depends on the payment method and bank, so check the transaction status with your bank if necessary, as well as the Steam request status.
Refund eligibility is separate from cancellation
Steam’s general game-refund terms allow a request within 14 days of purchase and with less than two hours of playtime. Steam also says customers may submit requests outside those conditions for review; the terms are not a guarantee of approval. These eligibility rules determine whether Steam may grant a refund, not whether an already submitted request can be withdrawn.

A Steam refund is not a bank chargeback
A refund request is submitted to Steam. A chargeback is initiated through your bank or payment provider and is a separate process; it does not cancel a Steam support request. Steam explains this distinction in its Payment Disputes and Chargebacks guidance. For a charge you do not recognize or did not authorize, contact Steam Support rather than treating a chargeback as a way to withdraw a refund request.
