Equip an emote from the selected hero’s Heroes > Cosmetics > Emotes menu, then open that hero’s emote wheel in a match. An older control guide lists T on PC and Left D-pad on console, but Marvel Rivals later split emotes and sprays into separate wheels with dedicated hotkeys. Check your current controls if those inputs do not work.
How to equip an emote
- From the home screen, open Heroes and select the character you want to configure.
- Open Cosmetics, then choose Emotes.
- Select an emote you own and use the on-screen equip or assignment control to add it to that hero’s emote wheel. NetEase’s May 8, 2025 patch notes say newly acquired emotes can also be automatically slotted into the corresponding hero’s wheel (official patch notes).
How to use an emote during a match
Open the emote wheel with its assigned control, then choose the emote you want. A January 2025 Siliconera guide lists T for PC and Left D-pad for console as defaults (Siliconera’s guide). Those are reported defaults, not guaranteed current bindings: the game’s May 2025 update separated emotes and sprays into two wheels with dedicated hotkeys.
If neither input opens the emote wheel, use the current on-screen control prompts or check Settings > Keyboard/Controller > Communication for the customizable-wheel binding. The menu path may change in a later patch, and a control you previously remapped will differ from a default.
Where to browse emotes and sprays
Marvel Rivals’ February 11, 2026 Season 6.5 notes describe All Sprays and Emotes lists that can be configured from Hero Profile > Emotes/Sprays tabs (official Season 6.5 notes). This list view is another place to browse and configure cosmetics; the in-match emote wheel remains the control for using an emote during play.

The May 2025 update also says the spray wheel can be shared across heroes using Apply to All, and newly earned sprays can equip instantly. Its notes specify automatic placement of acquired emotes in the corresponding hero’s wheel; they do not establish that emotes are universally shared across heroes.
