How Strands works
Strands is a themed word-search-style game in NYT Games. Connect adjacent letters to form theme words; paths can run vertically, horizontally, or diagonally and can change direction. The spangram expresses the shared theme and touches at least two sides of the grid. Finding non-theme words of four or more letters can help unlock hints, which reveal a theme word or its letters, according to the cited game guides. The cited sources do not establish current access terms or whether a subscription is required.
