Glyndwr will accept any human-made bow in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Find him near Roderick’s Smithy in Vernworth, give him a bow, then switch your vocation to Archer and hit one of the targets at the ruins northwest of the city to complete Gift of the Bow.
What bow should you give Glyndwr?
Bring any human-made bow; no particular model is required. If you already own an eligible bow, you do not need to buy another. One walkthrough names the Fluted Bow as an option, but it is not a quest requirement. PowerPyx’s Gift of the Bow walkthrough describes the item requirement.

How to complete Gift of the Bow
- Find Glyndwr. Look for him near Roderick’s Smithy in Vernworth and speak to him to begin Gift of the Bow.
- Give him a bow. Hand over any human-made bow.
- Change your vocation to Archer. You need to be able to use a bow for the demonstration.
- Meet him at the training ruins. Travel to the ruins northwest of Vernworth, near the Mountain Ruins and Malachite Forest.
- Hit one of the targets. Shoot any target Glyndwr has set up to finish the training.
The quest rewards 1,600 XP, 8,500 G, and a Ring of Proximity, and its completion unlocks A Trial of Archery. These rewards are listed in PowerPyx’s quest walkthrough.
What happens in A Trial of Archery?
After completing Gift of the Bow, return to Vernworth. Glyndwr approaches you outside Roderick’s Smithy and asks you to meet him near Malachite Forest; he then leads you to Sacred Arbor. A PowerPyx walkthrough of A Trial of Archery details the follow-up.

Rescue Doireann from the Ancestral Chamber
At Sacred Arbor, Glyndwr’s sister Doireann has been taken to the Ancestral Chamber. Follow the quest marker and fight through the chamber. When Glyndwr’s shot causes the ogre to drop Doireann, pick her up and carry her outside. PowerPyx describes this chamber section as not timed.
Follow-up rewards and the Woodland Wordsmith pawn skill
The walkthrough lists 2,800 XP, 16,000 G, a Portcrystal, and a Repeller Bow as A Trial of Archery rewards. GamesRadar+’s guide separately reports that speaking to Taliesin after the quest can grant the Heavenly Shot skill; it is distinct from the listed quest rewards.
