Tycoon Racers—called Racers in the current official guide—is a competitive MONOPOLY GO! minigame. Collect Flags, spend them on Race Dice to move around a track, earn lap rewards, and compete for Medals based on race placement. You can enter as a team or solo; the live event screen shows the current schedule and rewards.
How the event works
A championship is made up of several races, usually three, but the schedule can vary by event. In the team format described by the official guide, four teams of four compete. Solo players are grouped in a lobby with three other solo players. You use Flags to roll Race Dice, and your movement helps you complete laps and compete in each race. Race placements award Medals toward the championship result.
The current rules are in the official Racers guide. Event schedules, rewards, and mechanics can change, so check the live event screen in your game.
How to play, step by step
- Open Racers and choose team or solo play. During the team-up phase, either form a team with three other players or choose solo. The guide says team and solo rewards differ; review the in-game comparison before confirming your choice.
- Collect Flags. The official guide lists board spaces, Quick Wins, the Shop’s Free Gift, milestone and tournament rewards, and Tycoon Club gifts as sources. Flag collection from board spaces is affected by your selected Multiplier. The described rules require at least 20 Flags to roll Race Dice.
- Spend Flags on Race Dice. In the event view, use your Flags to roll. The distance you move depends on the total Race Dice roll, your selected Multiplier, and whether the dice show doubles or triples.
- Complete laps and claim lap rewards. Depending on the event, lap rewards may include Rolls, Flags, Sticker Packs, Emojis, or Boosters. Unopened lap rewards carry over to the next round, but claim all of them before the event ends.
- Track placements and Medals. Race placement earns Medals. In the format described by the guide, the final race awards double Medals. The team with the strongest championship Medal result wins the grand prize.
Choosing team or solo play
Choose based on whether you have three players to team up with and whether you want to coordinate with teammates. The described team format is four teams of four; solo players compete in a lobby with three other solo players. Rewards differ between the options, and the game displays a comparison before you confirm. The official guide says team rewards are better, but the live in-game comparison is the useful reference for the specific event you are joining.

Using Flags and the Multiplier
Flags are the resource you spend to roll Race Dice. The Multiplier affects how many Flags you collect from board spaces and is also one of the factors the guide says affects race movement. The rules establish these mechanics, but they do not establish a universally best Multiplier or Flag-spending schedule. Consider your available Flags, the event’s remaining races, and your team’s standings rather than assuming one approach always wins.
Team coordination and boosters
The official guide recommends chatting with teammates. Use that conversation to coordinate participation and keep track of standings; neither the guide nor the event rules promise that a particular schedule guarantees victory.

What Overload! does
Overload! is a charge-based booster that slows a selected rival team. It activates in Race View when obtained. The affected team earns points to break free: half of the relevant points advance race progress, while the other half remove the effect. The Help Center says Overload! can stack, does not carry into the next race, and has equal slowdown and break-free values for all teams in the same competition. It is mainly obtained through lap rewards; check the live event for availability and current details. See the MONOPOLY GO! Help Center explanation of Overload!
What to check before the event ends
- Check the in-game event screen for the current event window, race schedule, and reward choices.
- Claim unopened lap rewards before the event ends; they may carry into another round, but not beyond the event end.
- Review your team or solo reward comparison before confirming your participation choice.
What changed since the original Tycoon Racers launch
Scopely announced Tycoon Racers on June 12, 2024, for an event that ran June 12–16, 2024. In that original event, each race lasted 25 hours. That duration describes the 2024 launch event, not a standing rule for current Racers; rely on the schedule displayed in your game. Scopely’s launch announcement used the name “Tycoon Racers,” while the current official guide calls the activity “Racers.”
