To unlock Dragon’s Breath in Where Winds Meet, complete the Dragon’s Breath Wandering Tale in Kaifeng, then claim its reward in the Journal. The route requires Celestial Seize to retrieve Luo Jiu’s Travelogue: Toehari from Liang Yuan; returning the book alone does not unlock the skill.
Start the Dragon’s Breath Wandering Tale
- Travel to Kaifeng and go to Beast Reverie, on the first floor in the Fairgrounds district in southeast Kaifeng.
- Speak with Kongkong and Lou Jiu to begin the Dragon’s Breath Wandering Tale. The route is described in the Dragon’s Breath guide and the walkthrough.
Retrieve Luo Jiu’s travelogue
Learn Celestial Seize first
You need the Celestial Seize Mystic Skill for the item-recovery step. If you cannot take the travelogue, check that you have learned Celestial Seize; the route index identifies it as required.
Find Liang Yuan at Straw Shoes Camp
Look for Liang Yuan at Straw Shoes Camp on South Gate Avenue, west of the Main South Gate Boundary Stone. A route summary also points to the Patrol and Inspection Agency as a nearby landmark. Use Celestial Seize on him to obtain Travelogue: Toehari.
One walkthrough warns that witnesses may report the theft, leading to arrest and a jail sequence. To reduce that risk, approach Liang Yuan from behind and avoid witnesses. This consequence is reported by the walkthrough, rather than confirmed by a first-party source.

Return the book and claim the skill
- Take Travelogue: Toehari back to Beast Reverie and give it to Lou Jiu.
- Open the Journal and find Dragon’s Breath in Wandering Tales. The guide describes the menu route as Exploration > Wandering Tales.
- Select the tale’s completion reward and claim it. Dragon’s Breath should then be learned.
Do not stop after returning the book: that completes the tale’s story, but the Mystic Skill unlock requires claiming the reward in Wandering Tales. The route and reward step are covered by the guide, route index and walkthrough.
If Dragon’s Breath is still locked
- You cannot take the travelogue: Confirm that Celestial Seize is learned, then try the item-recovery step again.
- The tale appears complete but the skill remains locked: Return to the Journal’s Wandering Tales section and claim the completion reward.
- You cannot find Liang Yuan: Search Straw Shoes Camp on South Gate Avenue, west of the Main South Gate Boundary Stone; use the Patrol and Inspection Agency as an additional nearby landmark.
