Use the world map’s Meow Meow filter to find Kaifeng’s cat challenges, then follow the solutions below by puzzle type. The listed walkthrough covers 37 numbered entries, but its numbering has a discontinuity, so this guide does not treat 37 as an official total. The detailed locations and solutions come from a third-party walkthrough updated June 8, 2026—not an official developer guide.
How to find Kaifeng’s Meow Meow challenges
- Open the world map and enable the Meow Meow filter.
- Travel to a Kaifeng marker. The cat or its prompt may be above or below you; inspect nearby rooftops, courtyards, river edges, and other levels if it is not immediately visible.
- Speak to or interact with the cat, then inspect the nearby tablet, arrangement, or challenge prompt before starting.
- Complete the activity. A Bell reward and a checked map pin are the reported completion cues.
The map-filter and completion details are reported by the location walkthrough. A separate Kaifeng map lists 281 Meow Meow Cats across its wider database, last updated September 28, 2026; that figure is not a Kaifeng puzzle count.

Shadow Chase: locations 1–12
Run, jump, and climb through the fiery blue checkpoints in order. Reaching them out of sequence or doubling back can force a restart. The walkthrough says to press the controller’s left stick or G on keyboard to leap to the next checkpoint.
- Fairgrounds: On a roof near Caomen Avenue Boundary Stone. Stay on the rooftops.
- South Gate Avenue: Right of Harmonic Span Boundary Stone, at the avenue entrance.
- Near Mistveil Forest: On the sand below the bridge near Mistveil Forest Boundary Stone. Clear the poisonous mist first.
- North Imperial Garden: Across the bridge from South Imperial Garden Boundary Stone, in the courtyard. Face the cat before starting so you do not lose time turning.
- East of South Imperial Garden: Along the river toward Masterwood Hamlet.
- East of Ever-Normal Granary: On the path from Autumn Dusk Retreat Boundary Stone, by a gazebo.
- Northern Gracetown lake: At the top of the lake between the two villages.
- Prosperity Haven: East of Lin Terrace, near the river edge.
- Kaifeng Prefecture Prison: East of the Furnace Area, in the courtyard. Checkpoints appear on the roof behind you and continue across rooftops.
- City wall: Southwest of Furnace of Righteousness, along the left edge of the walls.
- Crafting Zone: East of Grand Imperial Temple Boundary Stone, near Wang’s Woodcraft.
- Forsaken Quarter: North of Forsaken Quarter Boundary Stone, near the water’s edge.
Ring the Bell to Pray: locations 13–17
Read the stone tablet beside the cat, then use your bow to shoot the cat-shaped bells. Follow the location-specific order where one is given.

- Northern Martial Temple: West of Martial Temple Boundary Stone. Bells hang above the entrances of surrounding buildings.
- Northwest of Gracetown: Near the map edge; use South Gracetown Boundary Stone. Shoot the bells above the tablet from smallest to largest.
- East of Palace of Supreme Oneness: At the end of the river bridge. Shoot the tree bells behind the cat from west to east.
- East of Grand Imperial Temple: Across the bridge toward the right map edge. Shoot the bells above the gate behind the cat and tablet.
Weigh It / Measurement Mode: locations 18–22
Place the indicated weights on the scale.

Collect the blue wisps before the timer expires. Several routes call for plum blossom stakes or Wallstride; clear poisonous mist where noted.

- Northwest of Ever-Normal Granary: Toward Plainfield.
- South of Dreamfall Cliff: At the bottom of the river and lake; use plum blossom stakes.
- Northeast of Dreamfall Cliff Boundary Stone: Toward Grand Canal.
- Martial Temple: Outside the south buildings; use Secret Edict Chamber Boundary Stone.
- Northeast of South Imperial Garden Boundary Stone: On the river edge; use plum blossom stakes.
- West of Central Mistveil Forest Boundary Stone: Toward the forest’s west edge; clear poisonous mist first.
- South of Fairgrounds: Southeast of the Mahjong Mode building; use Wallstride.
- South of Desperation Ridge Boundary Stone: Near the map edge; use Wallstride.
Dye vats and cat chase: locations 32–37
For dye vats, combine the named dyes to produce the target color. The final entry is a timed chase rather than a vat.

What to check if an attempt fails
- Shadow Chase: Check whether you reached every checkpoint in sequence; backtracking can restart the attempt.
- Timed wisp route: Watch the timer and confirm that you used the indicated stakes or Wallstride where required.
- Poisonous mist: Clear it before attempting the routes that specifically call it out.
- Hard-to-find cat or prompt: Inspect the immediate area, including elevated and obscured spaces. This is a general search tip for Kaifeng’s layered layout, not a verified instruction for every pin.
Bell currency can be spent at Meow Meow temples; the Kaifeng temple is in the underground Ghost Market. The detailed solutions above are from the third-party walkthrough; a separate page using the same title has generic hidden-cat advice rather than a dependable Kaifeng solution list.
