What’s actually slowing this PC down?

Equip the Range Finder in your weapon’s Right Accessory slot, aim down sights at your target, then hold the zeroing control: B on PC or Down on the D-pad with a controller by default. The zeroing value appears in the lower-right HUD. These controls can be rebound, and the effect is not instant: EA’s February 13, 2026 update added a short delay before custom zeroing takes effect.
Equip the Range Finder
- Open the weapon’s customization or loadout screen.
- Choose the weapon’s Right Accessory slot and equip the Range Finder. The attachment costs 10 Attachment Points, according to GameSpot and Shacknews.
- If it is locked, check that weapon’s unlock requirements. GameSpot gives the M2010 ESR at Rank 4 as one example; that example does not establish the unlock rank for every weapon.
Use it while aiming
- Aim down sights at the target whose distance you want to account for.
- Hold the zeroing control. The default is B on PC or Down on the controller D-pad, as listed by Shacknews.
- Check the lower-right HUD for the zeroing value. The Range Finder sets custom weapon zeroing toward the range you are aiming at.
EA’s February 13, 2026 Game Update 1.2.1.0 changed the timing: “Updated the Range Finder custom zeroing to not apply its effect instantly; it now requires a short delay before taking effect.” Allow that brief delay rather than expecting the adjustment to take effect immediately.
What zeroing changes—and what it does not
Zeroing adjusts a weapon’s aim for an intended distance, helping account for bullet drop. Without the Range Finder, you can select zeroing ranges manually; the attachment automates custom zeroing toward the aimed-at range, as described by GameSpot and Shacknews. It does not guarantee a hit or establish that every factor affecting a shot is removed.
Check controls if the default input fails
Open Battlefield 6’s control settings and check the binding for zeroing if holding B or Down does nothing. Custom bindings can change the default input; the control mapping is configurable, according to Shacknews and GameSpot.

Is the Range Finder worth a slot?
The guide evidence describes it as useful for sniper rifles and DMRs, but does not provide an exhaustive, current weapon-by-weapon compatibility list. Its trade-off is convenience against the 10 Attachment Points it uses:
- Choose it if automatic custom zeroing toward the range you aim at is useful for your play style.
- Use manual zeroing instead if you are comfortable selecting ranges yourself and would rather spend those points elsewhere.
Neither option is universally better; the choice depends on whether the convenience is worth the attachment-point cost in your loadout.
